SCT this year earned top new product at SEMA with the their LiveWire ECM programmer. SCT is primarily geared toward Ford products. However, Garrett commisioned them directly to provide tuning...
Wow, relax people.
They are a business, and I for one can completely understand the untapped market of the other car brands. No need to get upset over a company pursuing a viable market.
Now...
To stay on topic and not bicker...
I plan on purchasing the full system for myself IF the 2005 L61 Cobalt with the E16a computer is supported. I also own a Tahoe that can benefit from the...
Yeah, you are missing something. There are 5 engine computers that I know of that are installed in Ecotecs. These are supported:
P11 (j-bodys)
P12 (Delta LSJ)
E37 (2007+ L61)
E67 (LE5)
...
Incorrect. The Cobalt's ECM will not work with the flash that you are speaking of. It is only for the J-bodies.
So the E16A ECM is a weird one, we understand. But there are 4 ECM's in the different Chevy Cobalt models, and HP Tuners supports 3 of them already, and they even already support the TCM's of the...
A number of people have been asking me if it would be possible to swap out the E16 ECM on 2005-06 L61 Cobalts to ANY other unit that can be supported right away with HP Tuners. I just plain don't...
To my knowledge, the confusion comes from the J-bodies. The Cavalier and Sunfire L61's (2.2L Ecotec) are supported. The 05-06 Cobalts have a different ECM (E16), which is why they are not yet...
The changes to the Ecotec for 2007 include a new ECM and new ignition system. The ECM is now a 32-bit E37 unit.
That's great and all, I think it will be alot better. But please HPT, don't leave...
Your car doesnt appear on the application list, I'm gonna guess you are not yet supported.
Hmm, ok, if that's all correct, then that would be great. It would save me the need to purchase the extra control box. So if I understand you correctly, the HP Tuner software will allow me to hold...
In my reading of the tutorials here, it doesn't appear as if I have the ability to dynamically control any of the functions. I have to make my changes, perform a flash, and then run the engine and...
No, it won't. At WOT, it won't select 3rd gear until around 4000 rpm. And I need to lock the converter too.
With a manual controller, I can force it to stay in 3rd with a locked converter. That...
Having read a lot of your How-To threads now, it appears your product should be able to adjust the shifting like I needed. However, its a flash product, which means I will not have dynamic control...
Thanks for the reply Chris. I'm glad to at least know you are going to work on it. I have a question about the TCM support.
You mention that you have software for it, that's great. I didn't...
Hi all. Halfcent from CobaltSS.net here. I'm here to try and convince HPTuners to give owners of Chevy Cobalts with Automatic transmissions and 2.2L engines a tuning product.
I know all about...
