You don't need a wideband to dial in your MAF. Actually, I think most recommend using the stock narrowband o2's for part-throttle and then a wideband for WOT.
I will say the factory spark tables are pretty aggressive. It's rumored that they weren't actually created on pump gas.
87 or 91/93 octane fuel?
I'll admit, I play around with Driver Demand a lot. Right now, I'm running a very linear table (even more dramatic that the one posted above) and yes, traction is a serious issue. This morning it was...
GHuggins hasn't been on here in a LONG time. Not sure what happened, but I hope he's doing okay.
Sorry, not the best at checking the forums.
Probably easiest if I just attach my latest tune iteration. You'll be able to see I've changed quite a lot, so feel free to pick and choose what you...
@ jhillix damn you - why'd you have to do that!?? Now you've got me scheming.... :)
It's definitely not coming from the VVT tables! It's really a total package thing. PE tables can be leaned out, shift RPM can be raised (doesn't make more power though), fixing a closing throttle...
I have MUCH better results using Google instead of the forum search feature. For example, try this: "vvt Gen 5 site:forum.hptuners.com". In the future, just change 'vvt gen 5' to whatever you're...
I know it's not what you want to hear, but there are many good threads on this topic already. VVT has been around since Gen IV so it's been discussed quite a bit. Gains at WOT will be pretty minimal...
Higgs - what are your thoughts on doing this with the stock cam and stock VVT tables? I'm thinking of the large amount of cam retard and how that sort of correlates to the SOI table
Changes to Driver Demand are the most sensitive changes. It's honestly mind-blowing how you can endlessly tweak the feel with that table. It influences the shifting characteristics significantly too....
If you're e85 converted - I'd bet 500 (crank) ain't too far off. Definitely that much torque though!!
Ditto the above comments. A lot of the flex fuel stuff is way off. The timing table looks awful. Makes me think something went wrong from EFI to HP Tuners.
On the trans side, I'd just start over...
Look at the cam this guy is using over at pt.net, stay tuned to see what numbers he gets!
...
Fixed a couple things for you. Your Stoich AFR (table 12300) values were pretty significantly off and a couple other small things.
Whoops! Just assumed it was locked because of the ridiculous cost. Then I see no downside to a looser stall!
More input torque can actually increase stall speed above what Circle D says, so maybe ask them what it would be with an extra 100 lb ft down low. Too bad you have a '17 because with a good TC...
Same heads on the LT1 :)
In a NA, street car application I'd always suggest being conservative with a cam. Part-throttle torque production is king here. But, you're blown and with bolt-ons. Less...
The LT1/L86 heads have a strange exhaust port orientation. This is a good nitty-gritty article on it!...
All cams are blower cams. Spend some time on Richard Holdener's channel on YT. This should expand your pool of cams to choose from. Sure seems like a lot of split, maybe it's because the exhaust side...
I was off a bit on my numbers. Here's my latest iteration. Yes, I keep my TC unlocked at WOT. (that's a different contentious debate but I personally don't feel a difference and figure it's easier on...
I always find that the TC status (locked or unlocked) has a big impact on the overall feel of the shift too. So, i'd suggest finding a TC strategy you like before fine tuning shift feel or else...
Doesn't the high idle on cold start have to do "catalyst warmup"? ECM 2026,2027
When I set these values to 300* and -109* (respectively) I don't get the high idle, raucous cold start. I also,...
