For my 2001 5.3l 4spd stick, I just used the stock tune for the 4l60e. Seems to work great.

I did turn off some dtc's and a couple other minor things.

Did you check the repository? Do you have a truck with that setup stock or are you doing a swap?

I did a compare and copy/pasted all the 4.8 engine parameters into the ecm, left the transmission tables as is.

You don't need to change the setting to manual, it will work fine without changing it. I read that changing it can cause problems aswell.
