Appreciate that. Thought maybe I was a knucklehead! Now I know maybe there are two knuckleheads! Just kidding of course.
I'm probably going to get the "professional tune". It's just too many...
Yep, good list. I'll post my inquiries too! Thank you for that info.
There's a lot to learn. I might have to pay someone to do the initial tune for me. If I knew the minor cam change I made was...
Thanks! Makes sense.
Is there something I'm missing where all of these terms are defined? I'm brand new to the HP tuner
Thanks!
Hey Fellow 300 owner,
I just got mine back together. It won't idle. I assume the system cant calibrate out and accommodate the CAM change, and gives up?
But I looked at your tune, and I have a...
Finally got my car all back together, and fired up. I used the factory tune from it's previous running condition and turned off the MDS. Fired right off, and sounds mechanically good. So I'm pretty...
Thanks again!
I'm wondering, where are those various terms defined? Is there a list of definitions someplace?
For example, what does "desired angle" mean technically? Or are these items which are...
Can anyone suggest where I can get a definition of the terms used on the camshaft tab?

You did this tune on your own?
I did a compare to my factory tune on my 300 and it appears there is a LOT different!
Well, I'm not going to sit back and take no for an answer from Chrysler Corp. I'll let you know what happens. My car has less than 40k miles on it. It's absurd!
Did you have a chance to (could you...
For anyone who is interested, attached is the factory tune on 300 SRT.
I'm going to be attempting to tune the cam timing (and other things) to get benefit from the camshaft replacement/upgrade....
I hear what you're suggesting, but lets agree on a significant issue: The lifter WHEEL freezes as it has no direct oiling of it. It only gets oiled by what is flung off the crankshaft, leaks PAST the...
I have a '96. If you don't get help from anyone else let me know and I'll see if I can get a read for you.
This is GOOD information which is really going to help me when I get into this. Thanks to ALL!
( I don't want to take over tkemps thread, but here's the cam I installed, not that it's all that...
Thanks for the dialog. Appreciate it!
I'm interested in your perspective on the lifter failure. Do you think this was directly related to the MDS system? (I did the delete of course). My failure was...
Tkemp,
I assume you did the MDS delete?
Have you done any other engine modifications other than the cam? Did you put the mechanical cam advance limiting in the cam phaser?
I'll look at your files...
Interesting.
Sorry, I have not looked at tkemps files yet, but am interesting in an education.
Is 114 the cam Centerline when in operation? So it appears that it is possible to see this active/real...
Thanks for the info. I will be sure to let you know how I progress.
I'm working on my 6.4 SRT as I replaced the CAM. Looking for as much info as I can get to assist with tuning.
Thanks!
Rich
Hi,
I installed a new cam (very mild street grind - comp cams) in my car after the lifter froze up an destroyed the factory one.
I am going to tune the car using the HP Tuner interface. I have not...
Fair enough! Thanks for the response.
I must confess, I'm just riding on the coattails of this thread as that was easy (maybe I should have started a new thread, maybe I should now). I did not...
Thanks for the advise. I'm not sure if it's even worth any tuning, that's my point. Maybe just turn off the MDS and call it a day (that's pretty simple!).
That's what I'm interested in getting some...
New to the forum, and new to tuning. Have built many cars but have been out of it for 20 years, and it's a bit different. Got back into it because my 300 SRT ate the camshaft since the lifter wheel...
I read the above thread with interest as I just installed a new cam in my 300 (after it ate the lifter on #8 cylinder).
I know I need to turn off the MDS, but honestly I was just going to leave it...
