the more digging i do into this, the more the scaler doesn't need to be changed per Nick williams. The manifold volume doesn't seem to be present in the newer ones. Unless it's hiding somewhere

Keep in mind, with most GDI setups, the first line of defense is to pulling timing, or show KR. This is telling you that something else is out of line...
zero the Map Hyst, RPM Hyst, enable rpm and Throttle/Hot. This will put it directly MAP KPA based only.
It's a multiplier table. I used to get past the limit on an LSJ spinning to 8500 rpms.
8192 x 1.xxx = desired rpm limit.
