I have checked out a few different towing tunes and noticed the VGT duty cycle is stock. Wouldn't it make sense to have the veins closed on the low end up until around 1600 and ramp down...

Bump to this. I been running this file in my truck for over a year now and have had good results. I definitely get some black soot when flooring it, but my butt dyno definitely notices. I get 17mpg...
I had the same issue. Only IDS will do this unfortunately. Find someone local who has one. If HPT can implement this, that would be awesome.
