Here's another question. Does flashing the TCM reset adaptives? I'm assuming no.
Long story, but the end result is I'm having a hard time commanding a proper first gear shift point without flair, but my car is weird with the 3.70 gears.
On the zf8, has anyone played with resetting the trans adaptives and trying to do a relearn using the scanner?
Don't want to open a can of worms here unless I can get the lid back on as this is my...
I think you can eliminate or at least minimize your scanner issues by prioritizing polling speeds for the things that happen quickly. It works for me.
As far as changing the tables you have shown,...
Take a look at the torque reduction table that's near the rev limit tables. It should show reduction vs rpm error.
Thanks for all the hard work Steven.
That's a lot of rpm. Are you still seeing rpm limit for torque source? What is injector DC?
Log battery voltage?
What does fuel mass cyl 1 do when it happens?
Your MAP KPA and total airflow also dip slightly right there. But VE does not.
There are tables for fuel cut and several tables for torque reduction (retard and/or throttle). Are you logging throttle position and spark advance? What happens when it starts limiting?
Also log...
Actually, I'd like to have a lot of these mapped for this application if possible

Maybe these aren't options?
I have shift ID, shift situation, shift type.
Channel 4403 was not mapped for me - 2016 6.4 Challenger 8hp70.
I sent a ticket into support. Ticket ID: 196347
Is there a way to log:
shift time
slip time
flare rpm during shifts...
Your questions are hard to answer remotely. Does it feel weaker running at at 15.4 compared to 14.2? Is your wideband accurate?
Log your fuel trims in closed loop and see WHY it's trying to drive...
Many reasons:
Engine longevity
Fuel consumption
Emissions compliance (if only for your own peace if mind)
Sensor wear
Self diagnosis (codes)
On the first two, some could argue that a good...
You may find lowering the WOT threshold helps with part throttle fuel trims by getting into open loop sooner. Check out some of the boosted tunes in the repositoryto see what I mean.
It's generally better to run in closed loop when you can for many reasons.
If you have changed the cam drastically, you may find the o2 sensors don't read correctly at low loads due to valve...
Are you following the instructions about ignition off, waiting 10 sec, ignition on and then clicking ok after a write?
I had an engine light if I didn't follow this process when flashing the...
Thank you again Steven! This is way more than I expected and by far the best write up I've seen on the zf8.
A small additional question related to how the trans is mapped - specifically for torque...
Under Trans>shift pressures, there are 3 tabs.
General, upshift, and downshift.
These seem to be related to fluid pressures in the various clutches. There are also some time based parameters.
...
Thanks a ton Steven!
I'm going to throw out another post about tuning the actual shift timing and clutches under the shift pressures tab. I hope you can help out there as well.
I'm going to bring this back up top. I'm logging and seeing more than just 4 distinct modes. There is an apply fill, apply comp, slip SS, and maybe another that I don't recall at the moment. What...
It's OSS rpm, so it is unlocked for a bit until you get under way.
Mine doesn't seem to follow the map. I must be missing something.
I'm logging TCC pattern, TCC Type, TCC mode, basically all...
Live and learn.
And/Or keep working trying to fix it, if it is truly even a "problem" to begin with.
You have a large displacement, heavily modified engine. Did you honestly believe it would...

Read that.
Log TCC lock status and I think you will find that it's unlocked already when you're...
Do you have accurate injector data?
