Read post #121, Lextech has it
I did a hard reset (remove all power from it, press power button for 15 seconds) and it powered back up. It must have got set in some strange state.
All is well, nothing to see here, move...
I was thinking just that, what current is there and make a fused connection for safety. The data could be isolated and done optically.
I'll post back when I have a better idea what happened.
My laptop (Lenovo T530 i7) just got fried after plugging in my MVPI interface to a high end Agilent Lab power supply.
I was using EFILive with no issues. So I switched to my HPT interface and...
I'll dig around and see if I can find anything on the 95.

He is probably on here too, but you can PM him on the other site too.
Get ahold of Lextech, he has it.
Personal opinion, I don't think I would rush to turn off torque management, especially if I was towing with a 4L6xE. you won't gain mpg and you will lose trans life. 4L6xE's aren't the best for...
Air moves faster than fuel, so the potential of burst knock is high, hence the PCM is designed in the code to pull timing to reduce or prevent it.
You need fuel that moves faster than the burst...
I think it is a hardware limitation on the interface for any 256k (96-97 LT1/96-97 Vortec) PCM/VCM's.
If you want the easy fix, do a 98-00 VCM swap (minor pinout change) or go all out for a 0411...
Go to Car-part.com and look up the 2001 Grand AM PCM and see if it is the same PN as the 1999.
Generally pretty accurate.
L18's had the Allison A1000 as an option in the GMT800's in some models (3500 only I think) and the L21 454 came only with the Allison A500 (4 speed). A very undesired transmission, 30k lb gross...
Would like to see it, will take some picts the next time I open up a 0411 and a 4895 and 4896. They come in spurts....
Of the ones I have looked at in person (I do Bricked PCM repairs), I haven't seen any different PN's on the processors, nor any other of the IC's.
The 2003-up is a diff processor.
One reason I wanted EFILive. It is awesome to have the handheld for standalone datalogging.
They should read carefully all the comments on EFILive's tools and make sure they cover all the bases.
I am seeing a Mode 2 Erase issue on a PCM on my bench supply (lab grade). It won't read it and won't flash it. And flashing gave me a Mode 2 erase error.
Any other ideas to look at on Mode 2...
Post your .hpt file so I can make sure I have the right OS for it. I have a bunch of 98-00 454 files.
Find a stock .bin or stock .hpt file, you can do a compare to your read and see what is different.
You can import those changes to yours or you can just flash it in IF the OSID is the same (do a...
Is very possible that Jet DST was able to change something that HPT isn't set up to see.
Look in the repository and see if any 2500/3500 454 files are there.
I have a .bin for it, which HPT can...
If you offer single VCM license, the VIN that is in it doesn't matter. It is SINGLE VCM still. So what you are saying is the model is single VCM AND single VIN. Correct? Year/Model is above that,...
I have seen most L29's tend to be on the rich side, even the L31's.
For a start, change the O2 switch points to 450mV, see if that brings it inline better. And running single bank fuel control...
I guess I am not following well, if HPT licenses the PCM itself, what difference does the VIN matter? The shop, or owner has to buy a license for each PCM regardless. Doesn't matter what the VIN...
As rich as it is getting on decel it screaming the fuel pressure reg is leaking. You may never see gas, but take a look at the intake, is it wet on the seams where the upper intake gasket is?
...
Timing set is probably worn to heck, get a new ProGear set and dial in cam to 112 degrees on the intake centerline, stock is awful at 119-121 (new!), so a worn chain will be closer to 124 degrees!!! ...
Internally they are identical. One would be hard pressed to find any obvious differences. What Is suspect is the 0411 is a cost reduced 4896 or 4895 PCM.
I used to work for a company and we...
