you wouldn't need to rebuild the entire harness, just lengthen the leads for the fuel injector and spark connections for the firing order swap.

a lot of us that were learning, myself included, had to invest the time to research.
A lot of helpful information is here on the forum, posted by the members who are very knowledgeable on tuning,...
something isn't right, the commanded AFR at WOT varies between 12.3-12.69 but the wideband shows actual AFR to be 10.9-11.5
I need to dial back the PE tables I guess, if that doesn't work it'll be...
I should have been more specific: I will use the closed loop, part throttle LT & ST FTs to get a base starting point for tuning open loop (disable closed loop operation).
I realize I will need to...
I'll email it to myself and post it up later. My plan going forward is to drive it for a few days and adjust the VE tables by what the LT & ST fuel trims are displaying. That should get me to a...
Understood. Seems random sometimes, this past weekend I did 2 logs back to back and one shows "0" all the way across the 95-100 kpa pull while the next, not more than 3 minutes later had "5". Only...
any way to fix this issue other than tuning open loop? I'm having a similar issue with STFTs appearing during WOT runs.
logging using the actual short term fuel trims.
I clear the adaptives after I make changes to the tune. the closed loop trims should be erased when I clear the adaptives.
where is your wideband serial input? what actual AFR are you reading from the wideband?
you can add a channel for fuel system status to see if it's in closed loop or acceleration / enrichment.
you...
is it normal for STFTs to be effecting WOT fueling? I was doing adjustments this weekend and noticed I started getting +2 - +3 in the 95 & 100 cells during WOT pulls. I tried adding +3 in the VE...
it's a 45 minute drive each way to get race fuel at the strip. I'll try it with torco to 1/2 tank of fuel first, should bump 93 to 95-96.
I'm running 93, ill put a bottle of torco in and see if that helps.
It doesn't bother me that much lol.
Do you think a cooler heat range plug would help?
I am going to try pulling more timing from 1500-1700 rpm @ 60-75 kpa.
Unfortunately that is the rpm range...
Are you suggesting I pull it apart and put a retard eccentric on the timing set? When I degreed the cam the intake Centerline lined up with what the cam card said so I thought it was good to go.
Or...
It's a Howard's 786965-13. Intake duration at .050 231, exhaust duration at .050 237, just under .600 lift.
I installed it neutral as per the cam manufacturers instructions, it has four degrees of...
well, I have the WOT tables dialed in - 0 to .5 degrees of ST KR and 12.3-12.7 AFR across the RPM range.
Still smells a little when idling in traffic but other than that seems to be running well.
I...
at cold start it reads +5 - +7, then when it warms up it reads -3 to -7.
idles at 800 with 55 kpa registered on the map sensor
the wideband is reading 16-17 and it sits at the collector, so maybe it's out of range for the factory narrow band? I dunno, in open loop i can get it to read right around 14 which is where is seems...
i think the suggestion about the O2 sensors getting hit with unburned fuel from the cam overlap causing issues at idle is very accurate, when I tune closed loop I can get everything dialed in except...
thanks for the spreadsheet.
why is you inj pw min .800 ?? that seems very high, the spec sheet on my injectors is .182 min
are you running stock injectors?
attached is my current inj pw...
I plugged in 7.0 to the engine size, no change that is noticeable.
I'll try rescaling the injector pulse/fuel mass to reflect more of the values that are actually used, maybe the PCM interpolation...
I'll reload the old tune and change the size parameter to 7.0 to see if there are any changes.
It also seems too much fuel can also cause knock, some of the places in my VE table where it's still...
it's nice having total control. open loop is the shit.
on mine it starts at -40* 431 and drops down to 266* 156
essentially, the colder it is the more throttle it gives it to start
unless you have disabled some of the engine diagnostic features you...
