Just copy from the tune repository to your pcm. Takes a little bit of time but it is pretty easy.
I have a 1992 with a 5.3 with stock tach. I have tach output high 3 and low 3. Works perfect.
Do you have AFM turned off yet? The only time my trans acted like was when AFM was on. With it off no more trans problems.

I have the same setup. I just tuned the engine side with some timing, E85 compatible, and turned off A FM. My trans shifts perfect with afm off.
