Quick update/ending...

So, shop was able to convince their GM Tech people to flash the new TCM and there was no trouble.
There were also able to flash just the TCM so I was able to drive it home...

Good to know. Don't know why they're making a big deal out of it then.

Thanks, I'll have to remind the installer that the car is calibrated for the supercharger/CAM/etc...but otherwise stock. Maybe their GM tech people will be more open to it, or not.

Does anyone know why someone with the GM Tech tools would be reluctant to flash the TCM on a modified vehicle?

Car has 28K miles so I figure I'd just replace the CATs but won't have the funds for a couple months....
