Possibility: if the VSS reading in the E38 isnt right, the E38 can incorrectly hit the max-speed-allowed limiter ... and will just not allow the engine to go faster. This doesnt raise any codes.

could be the speed VSS isnt reading properly in the E38. The E38 calcs the wrong speed and hits the max-allowed-speed-limiter. I had this problem on an an LS3 swap.

I believe the E38 is actually different depending on whether it came out of a car with an auto or manual trans. If auto, pins 71/72 arent used/operational ...speed comes to the E38 across the gmLAN...

Meatbag; this info seems to be correct. I had to do exactly what you state to get my E38 to read VSS sender signals on the E38 pins 71&72 coming from my termec5speed.

Update;

Got a "new" E38 out of the same year LS3 Corvette ... but this VIN was for a car that came with a manual trans (confirmed VIN with GM). The new E38 has the exact GM PN as my original E38...

I've purchased an ECU with a Corvette LS3 manual-trans factory tune. We'll see how that works out.

First, you need to find a sample file of the same year/make/model but with a manual trans, and copy the VIN that vehicle used. Use that VIN to program it in SPS, it will pull down a calibration the...
