Hi, I sent in a short version of my resume (no one wants to read all 40 years of my software development history) but
only got a robotic reply that references a "HPtuners help desk" with the URL of...
I'm a retired software engineer, and user of RaceRender. I'd like to contact someone in HP Tuners corporate staff to talk about if I could help with the softwre development of RaceRender. Its clearly...
I've been using RR for a while with my GoPro Hero 9. Recently I've noticed a synchronization issue.
I may have had it all along and just not noticed it.
I am using RR to read the data from the GP...
Sure. Its open source, and recently improved. Written in 'go' so it should run on all known operating systems. Source code is in
https://github.com/pfarrell51/gows/tree/master/goprorename
or...
Do the files have the filenames that the GoPro created? If so, you only need to "add" the first one, and RaceRender will notice the others and ask if you want them included. I do this all the time...
Thanks.
One of the 2D Graphs objects is a lot closer to what I am looking for.
I haven't figured out exactly what the various properties control, but its a solid beginning.
From a quick test, it...
I record rides on my dirt bike on a GoPro and use RR to render things like speed, compass, track map. It mostly works fine.
I would like to have a gauge to show the amount and steepness of climbs...
I have finally gotten the program written and working well enough that I'm willing to share it.
The source code is in github, you can find it here:...
I occasionally want to display the file name that my GoPro creates on the overlays. I expect that somewhere in the existing parameters and data sources is the name of the file. Can anyone point me to...
I have experimented with manually renaming the files. I've had good success.
I've found documentation from GoPro on how various cameras pick names:

I have a GoPro Hero 9 and use RaceRender all the time.
I find that I have to turn on the GoPro for a few minutes to let it find some GPS satellites before I can record video.
Have you tried...
I record a full day of riding on my dirt bike using a GoPro Hero9. I go thru a number of batteries.
And I end up with a lot of files. Most of the footage gets edited out, I convert 3 or 4 hours of...
I ride dirt bikes and use a GoPro 9. I ride eastern mountain trails for hours and cover 40 to 50 miles.
Obviously, this takes many video files, and most of it is boring. I cut the video down to 10...
I have been using RR to process data from my GP 9 with some success. I typically have maybe 20 files created by the GP9, from 4 to 6 recording sections. So I have RR process each session as a group....
sync'ing is the death of me. Both the GPX file and the GoPro video's GPS metadata have highly accurate timestamps, its part of how GPS works.
Sure wish software would just use the existing stamps...
My videos are big and long. So rendering takes an hour or more.
I've got a fancy nearly new gaming laptop with a fancy GPU and a pretty fast 6 core Core I7
I think it may be that the "video...
My old Virb could use an ANT+ temperature sensor to add a current air temp gauge to the videos.
While my new fancy GoPro can't talk to the ANT+ sensor, my Garmin GPSmap66 can.
I've found that...
Frequently, maybe even most of the time, when RaceRender is creating a video, rendering it with the overlay, it proceeds along at a leisurely pace, gets to 99.9% and hangs. Sometimes it hangs for a...
I found the button it was hiding in plain sight in the middle of the dialog box.
Thanks
I will probably have to create some code. I would expect the Speedometer to have a bit of dampening but...
Thanks, all that worked. Easy once I found the "open script editor" button and used your sample code as a baseline. Works great.
Using my Bar / Level EO with the "Pitch bar" style as an example, I can bring up the "Display Object Properties" popup display window. And I see all the color, data field, size, positioning controls....
I'm trying to add a pitch bar to my videos. For some sports, mountain biking, dirt bike riding mountains, etc. all action cameras flatten out the terrain. You can't tell visually if the hill is as...
I've got video from my new GoPro 9 with GPS data.
When I use the "_Timer - DateTime - Updated" to display the current time (current to when the video was captured)
it displays it as "April 27, 2021...
Thanks, I'll go fire up RR and hunt around some.
I was hoping for a github example directory.
I've used Eclipse in the past but for some reason I keep leaning back to VIM.
I assume that the community has cool Enhanced Display Objects.
Before I retired, I was had a 40+ year career writing software on many machines, in many languages, etc.
The RaceRender...
