    Re: Shift pressure tuning

Yeah, I did pretty much what you did. I played with the small throttle pressure until I got it to still have 'garage shift' as GM calls it where it goes into gear gently. THere's an algorithm that...

    Re: Shift pressure tuning

No such thing in the V6 code that I see, just the force motor current properties, which are a global control i.e. they raise the commanded pressure ALL THE TIME when you change them, and the 'desired...

Re: First freeway run since tuning....Good results

I am happy to report a similar gain, from 16mpg to 20 after playing around with the tuner. Of course, my jeep is 10ft long and has the aerodynamics of a cinderblock, so anything is an improvement....

    Shift pressure tuning

Since my long and wandering post about the 4L60E got me nowhere, I'll ask directly: Is there a way in the V6 HPtuners software to change shift pressure?

It would seem that you can affect it...

Re: How fast is your HP Tuners Computer/Laptop

Another old beater laptop, $90 plus $20 for max memory:
266 Pentium MMX 96Mb ram, runs HPtuners ok, but sometimes barfs on the chart display.

Tried HPTuners on my first garage sale laptop, a $10...

    More transmission questions and info

Would there be any way of more directly controlling shift pressure than the 'desired shift time v. torque' setting? Aside, of course from raising the line pressure wholesale via the force motor...

    Re: Way happy V6 tuning

Check the www in my profile. Not the newest pics, but close. It looks more 'finished' by now, but still not fun to drive in the current huge rains with no doors or real roof.

    Way happy V6 tuning

    ;D

Just want to say how cool your software is.
I'm the one with the '73 postal jeep with a '98 F-body powertrain.
I have a giant K&N clamped to the throttle body and no screen, so I had lots of...

Berkeley California, home of the Bears- and every flavor of alternate universe wingnut you could imagine.

And me, of course, with the '98 Camaro V6 powered postal jeep...

Re: Lean Cruise enable on a unique project

Ecotec engines are the Australian Series II 3800 motor. There was an Aussie Series I 3800, those intake manifolds have the air inlet at the rear.

The Ecotec manifold is very different from the...

Lean Cruise enable on a unique project

I've got a 1973 AMG postal jeep with a 1998 Camaro A4 powertrain. I want to buy the HPTuners programmer, but I want to be able to enable lean cruise. I realize that it's not emisions legal, but it's...

    I'm Anton, and I'm another gearhead-from-5-years-old type.

I've been a motorcycle mechanic for 10 years, then got into computers in '96 or so. I've built more air/oil GSXR engines
    than I would...
