Thanks for posting this. Do you have any more info on the VCX nano setup? I find the software a bit unreliable without any clear instructions.
I have the vcx manager software installed and running...
Discrete would be correct then.
That parameter depends on the fan controller /fan type you have. Ie controlled by PWM (variable) or by a relay (on/off).
Mine is PWM.
Fan type = pwm electric
Number of fans = 1
Yep same issue for me. Engine swap and now using a single fan. The Original vehicle the motor came from had dual fans.
If I Pull the ac sensor, the fans run flat out all the time. It appears the...
Yes I did. You have to have the ac pressure sensor plugged into the wire harness and then the fan works like they should. Ac doesn?t need to be present/charged.
Let us know if this sorts your...
No not technically. The trans can work without the BCM but you won?t be able to get reverse lights or tap up/down easily without it.
Always the way: as soon as I ask you helpful people, the very next thing I check works...
My suspicion of the missing BCM X1-14 PK 3 Run/Crank Voltage wire was on the right track. The BCM did not...
I had the same issue with the fan running continuously. Do you have A/C? Is your A/C gassed? Is the A/C pressure sensor connected? Check the readings in the VCM Scanner.
I found that after getting...
ECU / E38 L77 6.0L
TCM / t43 6l80
Please excuse the lengthy post.
I am looking for some help with my swap project and more specifically the body control module (BCM). The...
That's very fair feedback and thank you for helping me understand your perspective. I will adjust my profile and mention specific vehicle details next time. Appreciate your patients and help all the...
I thought I did answer your question by saying: "I assume that the single PWM fan in the vehicle receiving the engine has its own fan controller".
I was pretty sure that the fan controller was...
In what way is the calibration incomplete?
I assume that the single PWM fan in the vehicle receiving the engine has its own fan controller. Wouldn't the E38 not drive the fan at all if there was...
Thanks. This was helpful.
I didn't realise the R8 has a single fan.
I changed my Desired % vs ECT to match (the first few entries are 0's), but I still have the same behaviour. Any other ideas?...
Following up with results.
0C9 message - assuming byte positions (0-7)
RPM = ((byte[1] * 256)+ byte[2])/4 eg. 0C9 8012CC0700410800
Accelerator position = ((byte[4] *100)/256) eg. 0C9...
I am having an issue with my fan tuning on flat out shortly after engine start. probably reflecting the 5 second start-up delay value.
The scanner shows Fan Desired as 99.6%.
I have change the...
Thanks for sharing. I'll take a closer look.
Have you confirmed what any of the messages are related to?
Old post but might help someone.
Not the PID, but I have captured data on the GMLAN High Speed canbus. The message ID 0x1F5 broadcasts the PRNDL gear selector status (byte 4)
eg...
GMLAN message ID 0C9 is supposed to contain all of the following (not certain of all the byte positions):
Accelerator actual position
Accelerator actual position validity
Engine run active...
I have recently been reading and learning about the messages on the high speed (HS) gmlan canbus. My goal is to understand which of the messages are and make them available for everyone :)
