A lot of it has to do with the torque management, get rid of most of the torque management and that will help, at least in the earlier 4.2l, not sure on an 06.
Off topic, Any links to your build...
Thanks for the reply Shdwdrgn. Sucks being an older platform as we are probably at our limits of what is going to be unlocked by hptuners as they are most likely going to be focusing on the larger...
Digging up an old thread, anyone have a dialed in tune they like and are willing to share with me? I have a 04 envoy. I have tuned my 97 camaro but haven't touched the envoy tune yet....
bump, any updates to this matter?
Can anyone help me with a tune on a 2001 2500hd 8.1l engine with the 5 speed allison trans? Looking for some pointers to help wake this thing up safely. Torque management or anything to take out?...
any luck firming up the shifts on your allison with hptuners?
did you bump up that dip? I have the same dip in timing on an 01 2500HD 8.1 with the allison
v6's are like that for timing in the scanner, it really is positive timing. Kind of confusing I know. lol
Well I am having a heck of a time dialing in my idle from a cold start. It searches up and down until the engine gets up to 180* then it settles in. This is in park
A/F ratio is a bit rich during...
someone previously has installed a resistor in it as it must have had a remote starter or something. We are thinking this might be the culprit to the issues. This truck is not mine, but a customers...
Wondering if the 99 chevy p/u with a 5.3 can be tuned to disable passlock. I know the newer trucks there is also something with the security system in the BCM or something like that so just changing...
thanks for that info Krunch. I will try that out
the tps sensor was bad. what are the steps for the tps relearn
Alright the engine is running and now it is time to tune the car. I did an idle scan to get a baseline, the first part of the scan is the engine finding its idle and me tapping the throttle slightly,...
would the map readings show a vac leak if there was one?
Just got done installing a new engine in my 97 camaro. It is a 3.8l v6. When I fire it up it goes right away to 2100-2200 RPMs and doesn't go down. I checked the vac lines and didn't notice any leaks...
is there a new update for the software coming soon? Been awhile since our last one. Hope there is some v6 fbody items addressed in it. :)
are all 1bar map sensor created equal or are there differences that I have to watch out for?
any way to tune in a 2bar map sensor for our cars? Anyone know?
How would I plumb in the 1bar map sensor that normally is secured into the intake manifold? Just block off the hole on the sensor...
direct plug and play swap. No biggy, did it in a couple 96 cars already
I like that idea much better. I wondered about that as I have a gtp 2 bar map here and it is just a vac line that hooks up to it.
That would definitely be easier then drilling.
alrighty, shoot, guess I will have to drill a hole in the upper and also tap the two screw holes to mount it then into the holden intake. Any other options out there?
So how does the holden 3.8...

yes changing the vats between pwm and serial does effectively remove VATS. I have done it already on two vehicles. And yes I am raising this from the dead as it is the first time I read through it
