Thanks for the clarification - much appreciated!
HPT Staff - the upgrade is showing currently out of stock do you by chance know when it will be available again?
This is confidence inspiring, I have tons of experience with LSx platforms but zero with VAG products.
I have a couple what are likely stupid questions.
1) How does one go about licensing their TDI...
I'm trying to firm up the shifts on the 4L80E in my swap truck. It shifts very nicely when in SD mode but as soon as I re-enable the MAF it loses the firmness - I assume due to the line pressure...
It's an 05 LQ4/4L80E in my 71 C10.
That's exactly what I needed - thanks Russ!
I accidentally crushed the MAF pigtail on my swap truck yesterday in the w/p pulley.:banghead:
Thought no big deal just cut the pigtail off and run it in SD till I get a new one from the JY Monday....
Ramped the misfire tables up and it looks like we're in business.
Thanks Russ!
Thanks for the fast response Russ!
Yes, it does have a large cam in it. Sorry, I should have stated that.
I have the code for misfires disabled, I guess that's always done it for me in the past...
I'm having issues with the converter in my swap truck not locking up with the MAF enabled.
It will religiously when the MAF is disabled and running SD but as soon as I turn the MAF back on it will...
Will do. I have a feeling they're all clear...he's competent mechanically but he is a carb/jet kit kinda guy. But, ya never know. I'll get it back over here and tear into it.
I'm really thinking...
Thanks for the response, I was leaning towards just starting fresh.
The KR is all due to the trans being locked in 4th with the converter locked up trying to hit cells as many times as possible....
I've been out of the loop for 3-4 years and just helping a buddy who's tight on $ dial in his tune on a swap car.
It drives decent but I'm having a bitch of a time getting the VE table dialed in. ...
Will do, thanks!
What would cause the TPS to flicker between .39% to .78% and occassionally up to 1.17% when idling.
Naturally when it flickers up and down the idle surges all over the place.
Catch is, it only...
I've been helping a buddy get his tune straightened out on his car. When I started it was surging all over the place, now it's settled nice and holding a pretty steady MAP signal, advance, etc......
I bet that's the same problem I've had too.
Been helping a friend out with a new car with a piss poor SD tune.
Here's my original thread

I'm making progress, at least now it idles...
Thanks for the help svede. It looks like he's going to be putting a MAF back on it this week which will make things much easier for me. Especially getting things dialed in with the new...
I had a feeling those big blanket changes to the spark tables weren't the right way to do things at all.
By more precise do you mean it required more precision to get the fueling spot on? Or that...
It has 30's in it, once we get this straightened out it will get 42's.
Going to help a friend iron out the tune in his car this weekend and could use some input on the one that's in there.
Specs on the car:
99 Hugger Z28
(Engine)
11:1 418 CID (4.07x4.00)
Kateck...
Thanks for the input George, I'd made a thread up concerning it before I did it but received no input...
My understanding of the function was that the minimum was just that...a minimum.
I noticed...
It worked for me, I've had mine down to 600 before...don't know why it hasn't worked for others??
I did get an infolog out of the g/f's Speed6 which is encouraging!
If it's anything like my Marauder you won't be able to connect to the VCM. Bill said they were working on the older stuff down...
Zero the min airflow table in the 6-800 rpm columns and you'll have control over idle speed.
