I thought timing calculators were junk and useless? I was told to forget about them.
Just curious, why can't hptuners write over what's on the ecm? I always thought that the tuner was locked to the ecm, not the ecm locked. Just curious
Ok, any chance an h&s minimaxx could do it? Would require an unlock code correct?
Also, not sure if it would've made a difference, but swapped the ecm out, no rewrite. And still no crank.
Any way to unlock it? Where can i get a calibration file? What else could I use?
That's essentially what I did. I read it, it sent me a generic file for the vin. Then when I went to write it with hptuners it failed. And continue to fail.
I have a 2012 ram 5500 I am working on for my buddy. It had a delete tuner on it and was removed without being unlocked from what we were told. So we hooked up all new emissions, and I tried to write...
Yes you have, and what I have made is a chart to aid me in understanding the changes I am making. As In helping me more readily calculate the degrees being traveled at a specific rpm and duration...
has anyone modified the correction factors successfully for the pilot timing to aid in controlling/manipulating it?
My timing table was created using a calculator that I had made for displaying the number of degrees traveled for the designated pulsewidth at a specific rpm. From there I then made a decision as to...
From my understanding the bbi stage 1's are a 30% over, which I thought equated to 100 hp sticks. Wildly off, how?
As far as the timing, it is aggressive, but my calculations put the duration at...
This is the tune for the log above. (removed)
I'm on the road at the moment, but when I get home I'll post the tune. I guess my main concern is, am I running too much pilot timing, or is it causing harm running it so far ahead of the main?
If...
Here is a log that displays what iam talking about. Nevermind the FCA percentages I dont understand the issue, its always done it.95610
My bad on the Stoich. I just meant for clean efficient ratios. Iam aware that the A/F for diesel is very much leaner than gasoline.
As for my pilot im baffled, ive reviewed all my logs, and main...
Also is there a calculation as to how many lb/hr of air per microsecond of fuel is necessary to achieve a somewhat stoich air/fuel ratio?
Ok thank you.
I tried as we previously discussed with pilot timing correction factors, and failed miserably. the lowest it would allow the pilot to drop to was 19 degrees before main. Which is...
By the way, can go in and smooth out my airflow tables similar as you would for the ICP?
Okie Dokie, makes perfect sense, almost the exact direction i was moving towards. thanks again jim.
Hello All,
Long time no see, Hope everyone had a delightful holiday season.
I have been working on a new tune and have found that its time to dive into the correction tables.
First issue im...
Jim how were you able to change your pilot table to absolute degrees? Iam already aware of both of those facts already. I've been listening.lol
I calculated to the best of my ability the degrees of...
I'll experiment with the 15 degrees jim, right now I have an 18 taper to 3 degrees. At 3 degrees pilot I turn it off.
As far as load calculations I was hesitant to utilize this because of inferred...
I have eliminated the post injection. Do not feel I'm prepared enough to optimize the use of it yet. These study's you mentioned, and search suggestions that would lead me down the right path of...
Ok all great information. I was using the 12 degrees after top dead center for my point of injector fire termination to prevent as a little of a chance of trying to detonate before tdc.
Doing this...
I cant thank everyone enough for their time and valuable input. It has allowed me to excel my knowledge much more rapidly than expected.
I do have a question, and hopefully someone can point me in...
