Is a ignition only tune possible?

I'm wondering if its possible to tune a ecm/pcm to only run an LS Gen3 24x ignition system. similar to a MSD 6014 controller. i would need an ign map based on RPM. with an initial timing of 12 degrees on a curve to 28degrees at 2500 rpm. or i could use a fixed timing of 28 degrees, but this makes idling and starting a little harder.

if it's possible could you provide the ecm/pcm used and variables that need to be modified/set. wiring the cam/crank/coils is no issue for me. i could just use the MSD harness. But i'm a complete newbie to tuning pcm's. thanks in advance (pun intended)

Just leave the injectors unplugged. Shouldn't be a problem.

Will need map to determine timing, as its load based, otherwise it would just ride the top row of timing, which you could adjust to be rpm based only.

What would be the best ECU/PCM to use. something widely available and low cost to obtain. 0411? 09354896?

Might need a TPS input to the PCM to switch it from the idle spark table to the main spark table. Idle spark tables stop at 4800 rpm. Either red/blue connector PCM. They are $20 around here. This is probably something you are just going to have to experiment with to see what works.

The more I think about, your gonna need this, and this, and this, then this. man that 6014 box just looks better and better.

Really? just to have a rpm based ign curve. MAP and TPS i already have. what else would the ECM need?

the problem with the 6014 is reliability. this is the second failure. and tech support is non-existent. a stock ECM actually sounded easy( and cheap).

    6014 failure? thats odd
I know of many that have been going great for years on daily drivers.

for me, I look at time invested
the msd box can be had for under $500. I ask myself, will I spend more than that in time and parts on something else. I couldnt justify doing anything other than the msd box.
