    Not recognizing my license

No matter what i do, the hp tuners does not recognize my license. I have credits showing, but will not connect, and will not show that i have a license. What to do from here?

It keeps telloing me failed to load licenses, no matter whether I reinstall or not. I tried all three methods that the help menu suggests, but to no avail.

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

do any of the lights on your mpvi unit light up? if so which ones? Have you checked to see if both drivers are installed in the device manager?

both drivers are showing installed. Lights on the unit: power stays on and busy blinks occasionally. Tried on three different cars.

Your confusing me...first you say "I have credits showing, but will not connect, and will not show that i have a license."

I assumed you were having problems figuring out what licenses you have so gave you your answer...then you say "Tried, says failed to connect" then thats an issue between your hardware & your laptop.

Then you say " Tried on three different cars." what did you try on 3 different cars? If theres an issue explaining it like this tell me STEP by STEP what your doing.

    1. Installed software on computer following instructions per HPtuners website.
    2. Made sure drivers were installed.
    3. Plugged in box to laptop, and obd port to car.
    4. Laptop shows it installed in device manager.
    5. Cars key is in run position.
    6. Tried going to read entire first to download info.
    7. Says cannot connect to vcm.
    8. When program was installed, after apllication key was installed, it gave me an error screen with three methods to solve the problem, syaing that the vehicle license had failed to load.
    9. Tried all three methods, and none of them will load a license.
    10. I tried the method for loading licenses and it says no licenses loaded.
    11. When trying to use info suite, it says failed to connect to pcm.
    12. The software notices if i pull it from the usb port by saying that no vehicle power is detected.
    13. It will show 8 gm credits in the box, but will not show licenses.

I meant by trying on three different cars that i have three cars here to tune, and hptuners will not let me connect via any method to the pcm. I tried all help files, searched, and tried your info, and cant read anything or monitor anything. Perhaps it is something simple, as i have neer used this software, but it is seeming less and less likely.

#8 seems out of order...im not sure of which error you received.

    Normally you would
    1. Installed software on computer following instructions per HPtuners website.
    2. Made sure drivers were installed.
    3. Plugged in box to laptop
    4. Now, open up VCM Editor for the first time. You can find it in your Start Menu->Programs->HP Tuners->VCM Editor. You will be prompted to enter in an application key. You should have received your application key via e-mail after you placed your order or inside of the box with your interface.
    5. Connect the data cable to the OBDII port.
    6. Open VCM Editor.
    7. Choose FLASH from the main menu bar and select Read Entire.
    8. Click Begin on the Read Entire window.
    9. License Activation (MPVI interface users only).
If you do not have a license to tune this vehicle, you will be prompted at this stage.
      How to license a vehicle.
    10. When the read is complete, you can begin to edit the VCM's file.

It was out of order, sorry. I occured exactly as you listed it, but says failed to connect to pcm. It will not give me the option to license a vehicle. I have never seen the screen you presented for licensing a vehicle.

The error states (directly after aplication key is loaded) Unable to load licenses. Try one of these three methods to load a license... then says method 1,2,3...

I understand. I just tried per your specific instructions. When i get to the read entire screen and click begin, it says connecting to vcm, then states with an error box, failed to locate vcm. Make sure cable is plugged in and key is in run position. It does this on all cars.

    Esteemed Guys: (moderatosr)

I did a post just like this a few months back and I just got loke "youre not doing XXX good.... go reconect evething!", I commented (not complained) about the reliability of the VCM suite... nothing was solved and still have the isues.... and of course the thread died w/ only a couple of responses (Even thoug I banged FOFF patience in the begining, he was the only who could answer)
fortunatelly I learned my lesson and tried for myself isolating the culpript, and sometimes I can reproduce the problem, (not recognizing the licences, or noc connecting at all),
Try with a diferent USB port, (sometimes it worked as a charm), I suspect with an older comp there ase some "noise" isues with micro corroded conections.
sometimes a broken cable w/ intermitent signal thats preventing for the initial checksum, and results in failure
Try a diff comp. for me 1 out of five "cold wake ups" of the VCMS is a real PITA!!!!! sometimes a full morning lost to get it work!!!!

FOR ME, MY DEEPEST simpaties, and if its possible to semd some of my E-patience..... Its good product, but sometimes it bytes!
best regards from VERY SUNNY GUATEMALA!!!!!
I have a date with Eternity, And I don't want to be late!

I am going to join in here. I am currently having the same problem. I cannot get my vehicle to be recognized. I have credits available and one car licensed and cannot get my other car to read. When I go to read the ecm, editor fails to connect. I have tried over and over, using different usb ports to no avail. This is getting to the point of hammer time. I have followed all the above recommendations and still no ability to license my second vehicle. Please advise. Thanks.
