Question about HP Tuners unlocking my Ram 2017 computer

Got a 2017 Ram 1500 with the Hemi and 8 speed automatic.
Currently we are chasing an electrical gremlin in the #3 coil/ injector possibly. Backstory is the #3 cylinder was throwing codes and missing. First look we found a damaged connector on the harness side of #3 coil connector. Repaired that problem by replacing the harness side connector. Swapped another coil- no help. We also understand a bad ECM/PCM might cause the same thing. When I get time I?m going to check for continuity between coil connector and computer. Other than finding an intermittent open or a wire grounding out- the computer would be the next place to check for a problem. We have a good scanner AND a HP Tuner and want to send in the OEM computer for unlocking.

The next question is- does HP Tuners do any kind of operational verification prior to unlocking the computer?

The pcm unlock will not solve your problem, and if you have a bad driver in the ecm, the unlock will have been wasted money. They do not verify operation of the ecm. In fact 99% of ecm rebuilders do not verify proper opration, just replace bad components, and (reflow solder).
