    Surging around idle

I just cammed my 2013 camaro ss and after having it tuned I'm having a little surge issue.... Only when idling when I first start to let my foot off the brake....or if I'm lightly on the brake and only below 5 mph... Is that normal? I've got hp tuners and can upload my data logs and my tune.... It's not terrible but trying to park or in sitting in traffic can be a pain...any help is greatly appreciated.... Been trying to learn how to tune but im also in school working on an engineering degree so I'm kind loaded down at the moment

I think posting cam/engine specs and tune + idle log file will be a good idea. Your idle air is probably off.

Im new to tuning, I was having a similar issue with my base idle surging, I was able to fix it by adjusting Idle spark advance. Spark tab -> advance -> Idle Spark Advance not sure if itll fix your problem but hope it helps.

    here are the specs
    2013 camaro 2ss
    ARH High flow cats
    Bora Atak cat backs
    TEXAS SPEED L99 VVT STAGE 2 CAM - Specs: 227/239 .629"/.629" 113LSA
    Cold air intake
replaced the afm lifters with the ls7
    dual coil valve springs

    Here's my last few logs
    and my current tune

The log labeled "stopping and starting and idling around" is mainly where I'm having problems
I added the others just in case, the only thing my current tuner has done so far is lean out the MAF hz which at first was causing it to run to lean and shutting my number one cylinder off.

let me know if you need anything else....
and thanks for any feedback....I'm trying to learn instead of having someone just do everything for me.

It doesn't look lean at all in that file - pretty damn tight to 0 actually. Need to pull that min rpm reference back down around stock values though. Don't know why everyone likes messing with that. Curious why in that file your accel pedal position doesn't budge at all...I expect you didn't hold your foot quite that steady.

Well they were a lot higher... Had a nice rock at idle lol.... Maybe it was just really rich and that's why he lowered them. Which file, the one where the surging was happening? I was just barely putting my foot on the pedal if I did at all....my tps might not be right either... I know at WOT it's only 89 percent... But I've seen a few forums where people were talking about that so I assumed it was normal...
It only surges when I'm lightly on the brake or letting off of it slowly...
If I just let off it doesn't really do it.... I know if I don't let the engine run for around 30 seconds or so after start up it dies as soon as I put it in gear... I'm assuming that has something to do with the way he has the open loop set up?
I'm new so you might have to bare with me.

I also noticed everytime I flash my ecm with a new file, the check engine light will come on after start up and running for a minute....saying cylinder 1 deactivated, intake open circuit....and it throws another weird code (don't remember what exactly).....after I clear them they don't come back though....just thought it was a little odd that it only does it after a flash.

What all did you do?? That helped tremendously....there's still just a slight wanting to jump when taking off....but like 90 percent better....If you don't mind me asking what tables did you adjust so maybe I can play with them and do some fine tuning and maybe learn something instead of having someone do it for me.
Also the only other thing I was concerned about is my IAT, I'm not sure what it's supposed to be, but I noticed the hose was off to the sensor the other day and since my IAT is reading around 120 to 130 after warming to around idle....is that normal?
Also heres some data from the tune you gave me....nice job for real!!
Oh on another note, someone mentioned I need to disconnect my negative battery cable for 15 minutes after each flash to reset the fuel trims....is that true or no?

Use the compare feature to see exactly the tables I changed and how much. It is very useful to get used to looking at that to decide tuning direction. If you cant figure it out ill point it out but you should get it pretty easily. Open your old file in the compare folder. IAT will heat soak at idle. perfectly normal. You can also reset the fuel trims with the VCM controls in the scanner. Cheers!

Might of spoke to soon....seems to be surging when I'm coasting in each gear now....but the idle is a lot better...I seen the compare you were talking about....I'm going to look and see what all you did and do some googling on what those tables do and play with it a bit and see what I can't do....Thanks for getting me started though...I was trying to tweak the tune file I had but no clue where to begin really.
Where did you learn how to tune at? Just messing around with it or do you have any links to sites that have good material? I don't mind paying for lessons...just don't want to throw my money away on something that's useless, you know?

Nice job, you've almost eliminated it entirely....I'm not sure it's possible to get rid of all of it with me still having a stock torque converter....I plan on getting an aftermarket converter when I do my next upgrades....probably do injectors, intake and throttle body...haven't really priced what it's going to run me...I want to supercharge it but will probably wait till I finish school and have some more free time to devote to it.

Hi yall ive been running this tune and have made some adjustments to it, I've been using it or about 3 months now. It drove fine and everything but yesterday I reset my LFTS through the scannner and ever since then the car hesistates runs very rich and cuts out. I have the exact same setup just with no catalytic converters. This is the log and tune im currently using, I had no issues prior to resetting LFTS.

Your trims are doing a lot of work. The long terms are pegged positive. Either the MAF or VVE or both are off considerably. That or you have a vacuum leak. If you're confident there's no mechanical issues, need to start dialing it in.

Idle spark activity looks strange. Did not look at the tune file but looks like something isn't setup correctly there.

It was either a clogged injector or bad gas cause I reconnected injectors and disabled and renabled through hp tuners, I wanna say when I got to less than a quarter left in the tank from idling the car. The hesitation and cutting out went away.
