    overwhelming tables

Hi there, I have the 2020 6.4L paired with the 8HP70.

I have tuned the pcm and added e85 and increase the power output by 30whp and 31wtq BUT I have left the trans tune untouched. What can I expect to gain (or expect to cause a problem) if I leave the trans file untouched? I know these trans are sensitive and one wrong error in the TM Tables will leave me in limp mode.

Is there a way to tune these trans in a "mild" fashion? If I simply change the turbine RPM for commanding shifts at WOT.... do I need to adjust any other tables? (slip, oncoming, offgoing ect)???

If the engine power is increased further, what TM tables do I need to adjust on the TCM side?? Someone once said to me some tables on the PCM side need to be changed to match the TCM side?????

Any and all help is appreciated. P.S. I did read the sticky from Mark about his indepth look into these trans..

My stock file is attached Reid 20 6.4L Trans Stock.hpt

    Hello christianreid22,

Stock trans tune was done based on stock engine. So, if your engine behaves differently now, potentially transmission will "get lost" in some specific areas or trans will not delivery to wheels all the power added in the engine.

Without deeper analysis, I would suggest updates on:
    - Shift schedule (in case torque and power bands were changed)
    - Torque management (once it runs with E85)
    - Shift pressure (once it has more torque and power)
    - Torque converter (once it has more torque and power)

Yes, it is possible to perform a "mild" tranny tune, as well as a good/solid/personalized tune which will take advantage of every single torque/power added in the engine.

Let me know if you need specialized support.

Obviously, I would like some support. I am not looking to make crazy changes to gain a fraction of a second in anything.

My main concern is making the trans last and not bog, shift flare, or have torque management issues. Surely there has to be some play room to allow for increased power before changes are an absolute necessity.

Can you make a suggestion for torque management? Slip pressures?

The engine is literally just on r85 and is making about 30whp and 30wtq above the stock baseline

Could you share the tune and log files?

Queston: what is the purpose of your car? I mean, go fast? Daily drive?

here is my files. trans file is still stock. Car runs on dedicated e85 now and dyno'd for it. Car gained 28rwhp and 25 rwtq

    We could play around with?
    - torque management (specially after E85) -> faster shifts
    - shift (time and pressure) -> faster shifts
    - shift schedule (I believe your engine can rev a little higher now) -> take more advantage of engine mods

In case you want to proceed, let me know via email? [email protected]

    Thanks.
