    6L80 Replacment

Having a 6L80 replaced in a 2015 Suburban. Will loading the factory transmission calibration work or is this something the dealer will have to do? I've read where the factory calibration works but wanted to make sure. New to tuning and don't want to make a mess of things. If I read the factory tune, won't it be locked to that particular TCM once it's read?

Depends on which TCM they used on your new 6L80.
Some come programmed to your VIN. Some are blank.
Is this a used or newly rebuilt tranmission?

Reading the tune only reads it. You dont lock anything until your ready to flash it.

Rebuilt. It'll likely be one of the Power Torque transmissions from Oriellys. They say they'll need the vin so I'm assuming it'll come with the program already in it. Just want to make sure this isn't going to have to wind up at the dealer with a Dealer only service.

It should come in programmed to your vehicle.
