Hey Guys, its been a minute. usually i don't have many issues but today a friend brought in his LS swap 5.7 with a red blue ecu. Anywho, once I read his ECU, I am not prompted to license or use credits. It does open the "Save file" dialog box indicating I need to save the file, but at no time does the licensing present itself. If you've heard of this, would ya mind steering me in the right directions. Thanks again JL
Newer software versions don't require licensing until you attempt to write the file back to the PCM.
Thanks 2XLS1, this PCM is a 2000 model, so are you saying I should be able to just read, alter what I need, and write it in, and then it will require licensing? Please forgive me, I've never encountered this before, so I dont mean to wear ya out on stuff you guys are great at, we all run into unknowns from time to time. You wont need a credit until your ready to flash for the first time.
