    Crackle/Pop Decel Tune 2016 Camaro.

I have been interested in doing some sort of crackle tune for a 6th gen but not overwhelming where it is super annoying, just a little more pops and burbles on decel on E car has intake, headers (catless), and E85 if anyone could suggest some tips or best ways to edit my tune for crackles that would be appreciated. I have searched forums but have only come across some for 5th gens and not very much so on the 6th.

Get a 19+ Camaro file from factory they have crackles, you will want to view Tab: Spark - Minimum spark ( base, Long term ) 111.png Take a log of your car during deceleration to see where Spark airmass ends up, mostly changes in the 0.04 - 0.16 be mindful when editing the Min spark tables if you remove to much timing you can damage the engine or have low timing in the higher CYL G areas can also cause a buck on slight throttle %

very useful information to me. Thanks.

    pops or gunshots lol
drop spark where vwslammed said in your hich octane table
also take note where your airmass is when cruising the car will buck like crazy if you pull timing here
posting your tune would be helpful

what kind of lower timing can be dangerous and in what areas? is the fail mode too much heat into the exhaust?

for example is 0? safe everywhere below 0.3g/cyl airmass?

ive ran 0 before and yes ABOUT 0.3g/cyl airmass and below from redline back to 2000 rpm

Minimum Spark table is not commanded spark, but rather the lease amount of timing allowed (floor) for Torque Management Advance to remove timing in efforts to reduce torque. So when you lift the throttle the ECU is commanding to reduce torque with timing and throttle changes. Lowering the Minimum Spark table in the right areas allow the negative values that create the crackles. You can then fine tune it using the decel areas of Virtual Torque to make the ECU think it needs more or less throttle angle change to reduce the torque. You can run -15 but its not necessary and can make the pops pretty extreme. Going that far will definitely damage your cats over time, if you still have them. The OEM 2019+ Camaro SS/ZL1 tables are a good starting point. You can then reduce some of the cells to -5 degrees at higher RPMs to get some more extreme burbles. If you are not making burbles with -5 in those cells, then you're missing something somewhere else. You want DFCO torque to be delayed so that it doesn't command fuel cut immediately. You can tune this with Virtual Torque and Airmass changes. Alternatively, you can disable DFCO for endless burbles but I wouldn't if you have cats.

On most OS ther?s a DFCO Delay Table for rpm or gear if you like burble just for a second.
you have to look for the function in hex and create xdf.

Is that from an E92 ECU?

Ever consider sending that info to HPTuners so they can add the tables to the latest Beta? I don't think I would go through the process for clients otherwise lol.

i'll second that table as something i'd be very interested in adjusting. Did a quick read on how to add a table in hptuners and it looked significantly more complicated than what it took on the taxtrix/ecuflash platforms.

Yeah and you have to pay to convert the files too. Not sure I'm interested enough to do this lol. But it would be nice if HPTuners would add it which they usually do if you send them the info.

I don't have any cats on my car, I am new to HPTuners so I unfortunately wouldn't know where to 100% start.LukeCamaro.hpt Here is my tune that I currently have flashed to the car.

There are some things in that file that will stifle the crackles. Also, with my crackle tunes, I leave DFCO enabled but don't have it kick in so fast. This allows for more crackles and you can even start them over again by gently touching the gas pedal to kick it back out of DFCO. Like 1-2% pedal movement will kick it out of DFCO if done right. My Z06 makes CRAZY crackles even on high ethanol percentages. I responded to your email with a file.
