Checked the vehicle list and found the Tacoma with 4.0(1GR-FE) is on the list, but not the FJ cruiser for the same year range with the same engine. Found some other forum results from 2019 saying that FJ stuff should be coming soon, but here we are in 2023 and have nothing for the FJ at all. Can I tune it anyway since it is the same engine from a Tacoma, or is it going to be added any time soon?

I have realized that tuning is a rabbit hole. No problem diving down this hole, in fact I jumped willingly. Just want to avoid hitting every ugly rock or root on the way down it.
I've tried to mess with my wife's 2014 FJ Cruiser. No dice. I contacted HPT Engineering, and was informed that there are currently no plans to support the 2010+ FJ Cruiser PCM.

This is disappointing... I was hopeful since it's very similar to the tacoma. Maybe hp tuners would reconsider it.
Hopefully, the FJ has gained tons of popularity in the last 3 years. We have been getting more and more FJ tuning inquiries lately.

Dear HPTuners, Any updates.. Many people contact me to do a custom tune for FJ's here in the GCC as it was not discontinued until 2023 (Last model year in the middle east) There is a high demand on tuning those & specially transmission tuning.
++++ Is there any plan to support 2019 Tacomas as well as they are getting imported here now and people are finding the tacomas and 4 runners the best alternative for the FJ.
That's the biggest thing I also get. Transmission tuning for the FJ. As an owner of a 2014 FJ, I understand why people want their transmission tuned. The downshifts and lockup speeds are terrible in stock form.Originally Posted by akalshaikh

Exactly, I am on the verge of getting the VF Tuner so i can start tuning toyotas properly.
But on the same hand, i love HPTuners TBH and they should do something about it. Thesse engines and transmission and shared with tacomas and 4 runners and many other toyota vehicles so why is HPT are not opening it up.
Plus, as mentioned .. FJ's were sold in Australia up until 2017 i believe and in the middle east till 2023.
Not to mention the Philippines had them up until 2023 as well. But I'm also on the fence with VF tuner.
