Sched. Maintenance Light issue before tune

2020 RR has a scheduled maintenance light on, that will not go off after multiple attempts. Called the dealer, and they said to bring it in the computer just needed flashed.
I just found this out when he dropped the buggy off to be tuned.
Should I take it to the dealer first?, or go ahead and start the tuning process by connecting and Read and Write to the HPT provided file to the buggy?

This is my first HPT/UTV tune, been using HPT since 2005.

Are you trying to reset with BUDS? Or HPT?
The ecu doesn't need to be flashed to clear maintenance soon message.
But if there's a reflash update from the dealer, get that first, as whatevers on the ecu currently will be overwritten in a dealer update flash.
Then, pull the tune (not actually pull, it's a virtual read) and tune from there.

I didnt wanna try to read the buggy with HPT and the maintainence light on. But the light wouldn't clear by manually (override n brake method). So my neighbor brought "BUDS" home from work last night and got it all updated!!! Now I can begin my 1st CanAm gig!!

It wouldn't matter, as you aren't "reading" the ecu.
