2016 VF Commodore tune changes after conversion

    Hi everyone,

I'd like to ask some kind person for some tuning help. I'm brand new at this so will need a little hand holding.

    Car details..

2016 VF Commodore SV6 Black Edition that has received an engine/trans conversion with the following:

L77 with DoD delete (lifters, buckets, pushrods and trunions replaced)

Stage 2 cam upgrade with the following specs - 224/230 @.050
    lobe sep: 114
Lift is .608 on both in and ex

    VCM OTR / Mafless

1-7/8 headers into high flow cats

I'm relatively happy with the tune but I'd like to make a few changes that are more to my liking....

    1. I'd like to smooth out the idle, it's just too aggressive.
    2. The tuner enabled pops and crackles (that I didn't ask for), can I get rd of it?
    3. Can I improve the economy?
    4. Finally I'd like to smooth out the transmission to be not as hard, esp on downshift and kickdown.

I've attached the base tune and log file showing the idle from cold and a short 15min trip

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    Phill

    Hi Phill,

I have gone over your tune for you and made some changes that should help your idle and transmission concerns.

It's really not a great tune that they've done for you. They haven't even touched your VVE or injection timing, spark tables are very average and the fuel trims are all over the place.

If you would like some help shoot me a message and I'll help you out.

    Cheers,

    Jason.

Wow Jason, thank you so much. I've enrolled with HP Academy to try and understand all these air/fuel settings but it is a tad overwhelming at the moment.

I've made the changes and flashed it to the car. She now idles so much better, especially in Drive. Hopefully I'll take it out for a run tomorrow night.

Oh and yes you are right about the quality of the tune. I need to find someone on the north side of Brisbane that knows their stuff and doesn't lock the ECU.

Btw, where in the tune can I disable the pops and crackles?

    Cheers and again many thanks.

    Phill
