    2018 F150 5.0 Engine Swap

Hello, excuse me if this has been discussed before. I currently have a 18 f150 with a 5.0. It has rod knock and I am looking buying a new engine. Summit racing has the Gen3 mustang long block, I?d be taking everything off my old engine to dress it. If I purchase that and swap it into my f150 is the firing order going to matter between the two?

    Mustang firing order - 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2
    F150 firing order - 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

Yes you will need to do a PCM re-pin.
(PCM Tune required also to fix cam mapping etc > 196331-18F150_5.0-GTcams-noscm)
I ordered the same long block for a 2018 F150.
Needed to swap oil filter cooler mount, crank pulley and timing cover from old F150 motor.

Here is the firing order / PCM pins I moved in center PCM plug with color codes.
There are Coil On Plug, Port and Direct Injection pins listed.

PCM Pinout - Pg 4520 Service Manual

    F150 - Firing Order
    1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8
    New Motor
    1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2

Original pin location on left and pin moved to location on right:
C1381E is the plug containing all the wires which is center PCM plug behind battery.

PCM pinout looking in connector just use color code to verify you have correct pin.

Can you elaborate more on the CAM mapping changes that are required? Ive done the same swap. Its up and running but I'm having High Pressure fuel rail issues. Not sure if its fuel pump/cam timing issue or what. Thanks!
