Gen 4 5.3 trouble tuning using narrowbands.

Tuning with narrowbands currently. I know i can only tune cruising and idle. 2008 Silverado 5.3, E38. Installed cold air intake and lt headers. Not entirely sure of the best way to tune it using maf. Been trying to dial in the maf with vve tables but it is keeping it lean.

Probably a stupid question, but why are you trying to tune the MAF using the VE tables? You tune the MAF by - well - tuning the MAF

Furthermore you've kind of skipped a few steps. First with LT's you have to tune in your O2 sensors for their new locations. After doing this you'll find fueling won't swing nearly as much and will actually be pretty easy to tune in via trims. You'll notice before hand that trims may shift revision to revision by up to 6 or 7 percent - afterwords - 2 to 4 percent. Problem is you need a wideband to really tune in the new locations properly. Got to adjust back close to lambda 1......

Gonna be a month or so before I can get a wideband. How would I tune for the o2 sensors being in a different location without it? I seen some videos on tuning with narrowbands using ltft by disabling dynamic airflow so that is what I was trying.

But you installed a CAI which completely changed all of that anyway, so even if you had something to go by prior - just for a correction reference - that is now kind of null and void.

I posted some corrections for lt's in a recent post on here titled aem fluctuating or something like that - look at it and use it to get a general idea on what to do... Don't use long term fuel trims - you'll just chase your tail.
