2013 Jeep Wrangler hesitation at WOT - Tuning help please!

    Hello all,

Just finished up installing my craigslist Magnuson 1320 Craigslist find on my Jeep.

I used a file I found on here (I believe from this post https://forum.hptuners.com/showthrea...E30UfV8FOnByg8 ) to get it to run in the driveway, but driving it is a whole other story. Seems like it does fine with a gradual increase to the loud peddle but when I mash it to the floor it seems like it hesitates or defuels, and definitely not right. Any help would be appreciated, willing to pay for remote tuning if not a simple fix.

    Specs:
    2013 Jeep JK 4d
    Auto Trans
    LS3 Injectors
    banks intake
    Magnuson 1320 SC
    5.38 Gears
    40x13.5x17 tires

Been looking at the numbers and testing things out. Full disclosure, I have no idea what map sensor came with the blower, if anyone has any ideas for the Magnuson 1320 kit that would be helpful, otherwise I'll have to pull it off to get the numbers off of it. Also, I am running Bosch 280-158-051 injectors, which I understand are LS3/LS7 injectors that pump out 52lbs.

Attached are my tweaks, am I getting closer?

Again, I'm not looking for 5 second 1/4 mile times or 4 wheel peel craziness, just need the tune to be drivable at freeway speeds, good low down torque for offroading and my fan to come on sooner to keep things cooler. Thanks in advance.

Just posting your tune alone wont yield anything really useful as it does not tell you anything about how the engine is actually running.

You need accompanying datalogs with the appropriate PID channels.
In addition, you also need a wideband O2 sensor that's compatible with HP tuners. Otherwise you or your tuner will be blind as to what the lambda is actually doing at WOT in open loop.

Ok I see what you're saying... obviously I don't have a clue what I'm doing and I have no idea how to datalog..... should I buy wideband or just pay a local tuner to work their magic? I would assume they would have their own and it wouldn't be worth me investing in that, and paying a tuner.... but I've been wrong before!

I'm located in the SF east bay area, and I can trailer my Jeep to any recommend reputable tuner.

If that's not a thing then is this the right one?

    My injectors:

    Your injectors:

It's sad I'm N/A and I'm running my injectors at around 65-70% duty cycle on E53 fuel and your injectors are smaller for a SC project.....
Thank you for posting your tune so I can finally get some functioning injector data that I've been lacking for a while. Your injector data has my injectors working perfectly I just had to change my Power Enrichment settings for wot use. What about changing your injector data to the one I've been using? The injector data I've been using was kind of a baseline I was recommended to use a year ago and it's been working fine for me as a base line.....of course you still NEED to install a WideBand to make sure your A/F's are in check.....

Keep in mind, this is a default setting that was recommend for my injectors that are larger than yours. It may not hurt to try these injector settings. But have other tuners in this page chime in before trying them. Note: don't use the other settings I have for other parameters as they are based on my FWD vehicle....

Yes this gauge will work. I have the Innovate ECF-1 and the Wideband failed within 6 months of use.....
I currently have the same AEM Wideband you posted waiting to be installed.....
You can use this gauge to help datalog as long as you have the Pro adapter that allows you to connect analog gauges to your HPtuner

Just looking at my logs from tonight, try my base injector settings and see what happens. I'm going to try your settings but multiply them since your injectors are smaller than mine.....

you do not need the pro link with that gauge as it will piggy back off the OBD2 and populate in the VCM Scanner

with any S/C application you should permanently install a A/F gauge

You will want the gauge installed at all times wether you're running ethanol or not. The Wideband is a MUST HAVE for any engine tuning! Now as for ethanol content, that's another factor that comes into play. The pcm adjusts a lot of things based on ethanol content. For example, my pcm will read 85% ethanol even though I have 53% in the tank. Which means the pcm is operating under parameters for the 85% ethanol and not the actual content I have in the tank. As I was told before, when it comes to tuning start with premium fuel first to get your baseline tune adjusted properly. Then when you switch to ethanol you can fine tune the ethanol settings. I've been doing the opposite because for the past year I was able to purchase E50 for $2 or less a gallon. Now prices have changed near me, ethanol is still much cheaper than premium 93. And for ease of use at the pump, I recommend getting an ethanol gauge, it's much easier to measure ethanol content than any other way while you're at the pump.

You may want to watch this topic posted by "Haas". He started a post about converting GM injector data into Dodge injector data. This is not for the faint of heart unless your a full fledged tuner or really good with math equations. Hopefully other tuners chime in and there could finally be a way to interpret GM injector data properly into the Dodge pcm!!!!
