Different redline values in each gear

Newb here, sorry if this seems silly:

Is there any harm in setting a different max redline value in each gear? IE, Gears 1-4 get 6600rpm, 5&6 get 6200rpm, because that would probably be crazy fast and/or maybe something's wrong anyways in 5th and 6th.

Specifically in HPT: Engine > Fuel > Cutoff DFCO > Cutoff In Gear > ECM 12050 Fuel Cutoff RPM (In Gear).

Details: E67 on an LS3 with TR6060; mostly autocross, corner carving, no drag racing. LS3 swapped into a Saturn Sky.
    Thanks, Chris

my guess is it wont work with manual trans as the ecu dosnt know actual gear, its only estimated and dont think its that accurate, but if it did work would be fine to set that way

I'm not certain I see the value in that given it is a manual trans. If you want a different redline let off the gas and push in the clutch.

I bet you are looking at the auto trans values.. I've not seen those in manual selection.
But it's certainly in the auto side of the values...
but either way, it wouldn't hurt anything
