Rebalance nessecary for oem gm crank in LSA engine?

not tuning related but i know you guys can help me lol

2011 cadillac ctsv with the 6.2 lsa engine developed a bottom end knock over the weekend

can i drop in a NEW GM crankshaft with new standard size bearings and get away with not having it balanced? its a stock motor just trying to tear down and reassemble over a weekend minimize downtime and avoid machine shop. its a street car not a race build but does see 6200 rpm car made 550whp

any advice is appreciated thanks for reading

A new crank, correct for the application? Sure, the factory stuff is batch-balanced and all the parts are interchangeable. If it's the same part# as the original it's the same balance specs.

Make sure to get a new oil pump - preferably a reworked one. Forgot who makes the best, so research it... These are bad for the bypass plunger to stick and wipe out bearings at high rpms. As long as you haven't spun any bearings you "should" be OK

The LSA needs the melling 10355 if it has the piston squirters.
Ive heard of guys putting stock rods or pistons in a engine without balancing. But if anything changes i take the rotating assembly and have it balanced. They are never just right unless it all comes from the same engine.

OP, the Melling 10355 is basically the same as the stock V's oil pump the 10355HV is the 20% increase in volume and pressure. ive been considering it when i do my cam swap coming up here in the next few weeks...since im down there already.

Is this the engine that destroys the mains from a spun cam bearing?
