I think I'm gonna stop chasing my tail for now, and use the regular method.
VVE and MAF tools are freaking awesome thu !
I have been struggling with this also. But I think
The cl dyn air MAF and cl vve should be used in areas under 4000rpms or whatever you dynamic air enable/disable is set to with smooth slow throttle transitions.
Then the PE MAF dyn air and the PE vve dyn air should be used when you have the vehicle is set up to go into PE.

The problem I run into is if I input data to the low side of the maf or vve from the closed loop dyn air formulas, and then input data on the high side using the open loop PE dyn air formulas for MAF and vve?

What?s the cutoff point, do I just match it to my dynamic air enable and disable value in the calibration file.

I think I understand everything else other than the simple part which is where does the data from cl dyn air go and where does the open loop dyn air data go. I need a range
Like from 0hz to 6000hz on the MAF and 0-4000 rpm?s on the vve input only data from cl dyn air histograms.
Maybe @cringer , silversurfer 77 or Dan kunkel can help me out with that.

If you can post your log and tune I can take a look. Sorry for the late reply, I did not get an email notification for you post.

I have been thinking about doing a Youtube Live or maybe just a regular video from a random person's log and tune just for issues like this and then walking through it. I have done this 1:1 over email (including sending them private youtube video links of me working through it) for a modest fee to help cover my time.

The dyn air enable disable point should not matter. IMHO opinion most "walmart" tunes lower this really low to help cover up the fact that they are too lazy to tune the VVE table. The enable point should be pretty high to provide better drivability and throttle response at low RPMs and throttle transients where it matters most (low RPMs). Either way, the ECM calculates DynAir and the fuel trims respond. That is enough to back calculate both VVE and MAF using the DynAir formulas.

But without seeing both the tune and log, not sure there is much I can do.

Cringer, I tried to download the program multiple times, from both links that you provided on the Tube, and still get the same message:

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

First I tried to download all as a zip file, then unzipped. Then Itried to download just the 3 individual files (.dll and .exe), same issue. I then tried to install Net Framework 4.8 per the readme.txt, and it said that I already had this or a later version, though I only find 1.1 when I search the computer. I then installed Net Framework 6 but the file still gives me the same error?

So you are able to download the files or not? Not sure if it is complaining about not being able download the file, or you are getting an error on launching. Can you provide a full screenshot (not just the error message)?

Assuming you are able to download it and it errors on launch...what folder did you save it to? It sounds like it is trying to create cache files and your user account does not have permission to the folder...so either move it to a different spot, or log in as an admin, or try opening the program with admin permissions, etc.

You have to download the .dll files and the .exe file together at the same time and the same file destination. I ran into the same issue, but once I download it everything together it worked

Double clicking on the exe file, or right-clicking on it and selecting Run as Administrator, both give me the same error.

Yeah there are some permissions issues. You will need to either elevate your permissions or execute in a different location (might try the desktop as a temp test). I would think you have full permissions in the Documents folder.

You can also try right clicking the parent folder, more options, properties, security...then ensure your user has full control. If not, add those permissions.

I've been messing around with your tool. It's pretty great once you get through some of the nuances of things that can crash the application but I know its in its early stages. I would love to have an" Undo/Redo" button though. I found myself looking for an undo button, specifically when using the pro feature and using the average to fill in the blanks. Maybe I actually missed the option in 1.5, but I remember looking for an undo option a few times. lol

Either way, great work on this, Cringer. I'm using the VVE Assistant 1.5 to dial in VVE on a 416ci built LT1 with a huge cam. 24x/26x cam with a high ram intake. It's definitely helping.

I tried to move the graph for a better view while running the calculate coefficients set to 25 times. Granted I should have moved the graph first but I forgot. I had to force quit after about 3 minutes when the program locked up. I have a rather beefy computer but it looks like VVE Assistant wasn't using multiple threads and it locked up one core on my CPU. Or at least it only pegged one core at 100% by the time I checked the resource usage.

Something else happened too but it was again something I did to cause it with pasting data. I pasted data in the wrong tab and it wasn't happy. Sorry I didn't really remember that one exactly but now that I know you're interested, I will be sure to pay attention to any further issues.

OK fair point. I will put it in a thread on the new version. I will also have a cancel button in case someone accidently puts in 1,000,000 iterations!

Cringer, just to let you know that my issues with running the program were due to my antivirus software on my general use laptop, sorry about that!

Cringer, I?m trying to use your VVE assistant tool and I got everything working. My problem is with my histograms it?s an E39A 4 cylinder whenever I put in your filters it does not populate the graph if I remover the filters it does. Any idea why this could be happening?

This is most likely being caused by not logging a PID that is referenced in the filter. You can add or remove each element of the filter and watch when the chart changes....or you can watch this video I made to help deal with this.
