How to write a new TEHCM on a 2011 Silverado

    Hey all,
New to tuning and trying to figure out how to write a new TEHCM so I doin't have to take it to the dealer. Is there a video available to watch or just really good instructions?

    Thanks

I don't think you can, unless you have something that can use GM SPS. HP Tuners is not a J2534 passthru device.

I was told you could by copying the number off the old TEHCM unit and writing it on the new one. Just don't know what the procedure is.

You have to have read and saved (and licensed the corresponding ECM) the hpt file out of the old TECHM and write entire that file to the new (remanufactured) one. If you don't have that file then SPS is the only option

    What isn't an option anymore?

If you never had HP Tuners to read the file and licensed it before you replaced the TCM, then you are out of luck with HPT. A dealership or someone with the correct tool will have to flash the TCM for you.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

I tried doing this recently on a 2013 Yukon Denali, I had the original file before the transmission went bad and tried to write it when I installed the new transmission and it wouldn't work. I had to use SPS, if there is a way I'd definitely like to know!!

Did you try write entire or write calibration?
