Min Spark Base Vs Long Term

Has anyone experimented with putting different values into these tables? Wondering specifically if you can set Base for lower values and Long term for higher values to get burbbles on the initial deceleration but come out of it 5 seconds later. Basically how the 19+ setup, but from my understanding we don't have access to the time delay for DFCO which would definitely do it. The Base verse Long doesn't specify what "time" long is.... if it's 5 seconds + or if it acts more like a learned value like a long term fuel trim?
    Thanks in advance!

I have played with it and found that on some cars it works just as you've described. However, with fuel being cut by DFCO before the long term values kick in, the benefit I found to keeping the Long Term table values higher, is to reduce that throttle stumble you can sometimes get when the timing is greatly retarded and DFCO disables as you slowly step on the gas.

Humm that is interesting.... I will have to try and mess with this then out of curiosity as I like some crackles but don't always want it to continue for 15+ seconds on a long decel. Thanks Man! I will hopefully try next week sometime. Weather if finally starting to get nice out! I'll let you know what I observe.

If your crackles never stop, you aren't entering into DFCO. I've found if you have the torque model right the car will crackle for a second or maybe two and then go into fuel cut (DFCO). Then the only reason to make the long term table higher is to avoid the throttle stumble. But the throttle stumble isn't an issue most of the time so it just depends.

O yes I have Dfco disabled below 4k rpm. So she crackles, I have the min spark timing dialed in so it's to my liking. I just wasn't sure if having the two tables different actually did anything but sounds like it's worth at least exploring and seeing if I like the results.

It will crackle more if both tables are the same. But you will have smoother 0% throttle to light throttle transitions if you keep the long term table values higher in some area's than the base minimum table. On my personal car, I keep both tables the same as I prefer the consistency of the crackles and that I can consistently replicate them with throttle modulation when wanted. I don't disable DFCO at all since you can touch the gas pedal 1% and cause the crackles again. When I set long term to longer, there times when the car doesn't crackle much and I can see the timing using the Long Term Min values. But there is no logic that I have found as to why the car will sometimes always resort to that table.

Good info Man! I'm like 95% happy with how I have the setup currently it's just me being particular to really dial it in. I also tweak the driver demand in the 0% throttle in tour/track to get more crackles in track vs old man tour mode! Haha

Virtual Torque and the MAF can be used to get more crackles too

I wanted to update thread. I tried putting different values in the short vs long term min spark tables. From the data log that I took seems like the car followed the Long term table the majority if not all the time. In the end I didn't like it and put values all the same across both tables to get consistent burbles.
