Thread: Lean rich condition. New wb sensor and 02 sensors

Thanks again for looking I’m going to see what it does after I change the plugs and clean the fuel filter. If that doesn’t fix it I will have my mechanic smoke test the exhaust system.

My regulator is in the tank on the module. I have upgraded the system to a 99-02 LS1 F-Body Complete Fuel Pump Assembly W/RACETRONIX 340LPH Pump. http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...oducts_id=9784

"note: 340 kits do not come with regulator in the pump module. We recommend our c5 regulator kit, or an external adjustable fuel pressure regulator is needed!"

"the fuel filter is out side of tank and is a custom reusable unit"

I will have to ask my mechanic what he using but there is a regulator. My c5 regulator crapped out then he updated it to use his custom one he does for a lot of his higher hp drag set ups. My guess is the custom one is a regulator as well as there was no issues with the older stock maf that finally went out.

With all of these changes to fuel system, probably worth putting a fuel gauge on that it can be monitored while driving.

Mechanic stated the filter and regulator are separated and the filter has a steel reusable cartridge. Here are pics of them but they want upload from iPad. Will have to send later. Going to change plugs and clean filter to see what it does.

I recommend something finer than a re-usable steel fuel filter. The re-usable is probably 30 to 50 microns and the OEM filters are somewhere around 6 to 10uM. 30uM is too large it allow all your injectors to clog.
You want something with at least 92% efficiency for 10micron particulate iirc. Those re-usable filters are designed to be the first line of defense near the fuel tank. Closer to the rail you will also want the high quality particulate final filter.

From what I can tell of fbodys only the 98 was the only one that had a fuel regulator up in the engine bay which is what I confused for a pulse dampner which is on the rails. I will ask my mechanic what micron size this one uses. This one is close to tank. I will also throw some seafoam in it as well. Weather not good in Florida so I can’t do much u till it clears up.

Issue resolved it turned out to be the filter was clogged at the out put end.Carb cleaning and flushing the system system fixed the issue and the wb readings are back to normal. Thanks to everyone who gave Fred back in trouble shooting tips. I will start checking it every 3-5k miles.

Use a valve core remover, after bleeding off the pressure, to use the Schrader valve port. It's commonly used at tire shops to get an idea what tool you're looking for.

I ended up getting a aem oil/fuel electric Guage after talking to a few people at the track and looking at their set up. It looks to be much safer over all so that’s the route I’m going.

Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator which is a little after the fuel filter.
