10 silverade afm and vvt delete?

hello, getting ready to do my first truck with my mpvi3 simple question i think. im working on buddys farm truck 10 half ton 5.3 planning to just replace the lifters as of now and want to turn off the afm and vvt both if possible has a lifter issue and setting a code for vvt p0011 . i know a cam swap and vvt delete cover would be best but hes on a budget too. if i just turn off the vvt stuff will truck still perform ok? thanks for any help. new to this stuff and hoping to learn lots.

Mechanically, change the lifters and plug the oil passages under the valley cover to eliminate AFM. There is an inexpensive device to lock the camshaft sprocket that will eliminate the VVT. Someone else can help you with the tuning.

If you aren't changing the camshaft, you must install new AFM lifters. If you don't you will always have misfires.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.
