Attention, watch who you let tune your truck

I paid a tuner jan 28th from this forum to get my truck tuned after I did a cam install, I had it in decent shape with no idle dip when stopping. I wanted to get it tuned properly as i felt it was lacking power.. the guy screwed my tune up, the truck will almost stall every time coming to a stop at op temps. I had it in better shape than he did and I didnt have a clue then. I love waisting money on tuners.. I am now ignored after he realized he cannot fix it.. #MASTUNED......... WATCH WHO YOU USE...

i have worked with him many times before for remote tune service and other times just looking for help and hes been there. Gen V, ford and dodge.
i dont think this is the way to resolve your problem.
-Remote tune needs knownledge on both sides, tuner and the person who is with the car.

Posts like this without detail are meaningless. I'm sure there are two sides to the story. Nobody is going to PM you for your side. Bashing people on the internet like this is very rarely consequential in any fashion. Post up your story if you want anyone to take you seriously. Spewing anger without merit makes your complains invalid.

Without detail.. the details are there.. I have several post on here asking for advice on fixing my truck which neither of you have you tried to help.but you will jump on here to run your mouth about something you have no clue of... The details are there.. he left me with an incomplete tune and ignores every email.. Did you even read the post? You guys pay attention as bad as him.. Maybe this will get him to respond to me..

Once again read the post before taking up for your buddy. It clearly explains why I posted this?

This is nowhere close to angry.. My tune is horrible. I paid him on January 28th to remote tune my truck, he only screwed the tune up. The truck will fall on its face every time I come to a stop, The rpms dip down to 200 and jump back up very hard, slamming my brand new transmission build he cannot fix it.. He doesnt know how. Now he ignores every single email I send or tells me to "change the idle", again, having no clue.. Hes been paid, my tune should be finished.. its about to be may 3+ months he cannot fix the tune..

I would say there is something missing in the strory, I know that guy since 2015 and he tuned all the vehicles I had on his dyno or remotely.
When you need anything you will find him. That?s why I said there is something missing

I don't know the guy. But I know what challenging customers are. I just don't see a tuner, that's been around for quite some time and runs a business, can't get a cammed Gen V to idle down properly. I would guess he thinks his tune is fine and the truck has a mechanical issue. Who installed the parts? Who built the Transmission?

For one I didn't offer free help because you didn't post the current Tune, the OEM Tune and the log files. Another reason is it sounds like the work done on the truck may not be correct. You have a bunch of issues going on that aren't typical of a proper cam install. And I find it unlikely that this guy just forgot how to tune a cammed Gen V. Based on the way you spoke to me, I'm not surprised he started ignoring you. I truly hope you get it ironed out because nothing sucks more than having a modded vehicle that doesn't run right. I've seen GH try to help but again, no tune file posted. If its trash why not just post it? Maybe one of the guys that tune that platform often will see something or be able to help you out.

issues? the truck ran better when I tuned it after I installed the cam. the transmission shop built the transmission and put in a faulty TCM which was causing hot shift mode randomly.. I drive the truck 100s of miles a day without one issue other than when I stop.. so yea no mechanical issues mr know it all.. I built the engine like many others ive built.. again the idle dips when I stop, thats the tune, plain and simple torque related... I never asked for free help, I asked for advice as to what may be causing it, but once again, you didnt read.. I dont need to post a tune file as I never asked anyone to fix it, just a simple why.. I gave this guy multiple chances to fix it and respond to my emails.. I dont really care what any of you think, I know whats going on. He was paid in january and still cannot fix it.. idle issues are common with every cam install in the world, what are you talking about?????? isnt that the main focus in the beginning? the idle?

What issues are you referring to??? Please enlighten me.. He ignored me because he cannot fix it. I havent come at him any way other than my tune isnt right.. But once Again you know everything, so no reason to argue.. How did I speak to you, that would hurt your feelings? same way you spoke to me? man up!! if you need a safe space, just say that....

nothing missing he cannot fix the idle.. He then ignored me after an incomplete tune that he was paid to do.. its been months.. paid him jan 28th, if I wouldve posted this the next day than I can see why either of you would feel the need to run your mouth on here, but its been months with an incomplete tune.. So I took a different route.. I could show messages from experienced tuners on here stating that I wouldve got better results from a handheld tuner, but ill leave that there.. I just wanted my truck to run as it should.. I cannot stop when the truck is @ operating temps without throwing the truck in neutral to keep it from damn near stalling and slamming my transmission.. runs perfect up to around 190. no issues at all when ect is cooler..

neither of you have ever replied when Ive asked for advise, so why are you here now running your mouths? Id love an explanation other than youve never posted your tune file.. I didnt ask for anyone to fix tune so why would I post it?? Oh, and I didnt ask for a debate on this guy, I know whats happened, but the fact that both of you are sticking up for this type of work shows me what you stand for.. He replies on here with "message me I can support" to several post, so I wonder why hes rolled right by this?? HMMMM.... ??????

Just as an effort to keep this waste of time going, people are offering advice when they say post a tune and log. They can’t help without something to look at. This isn’t a “change this and it will fix it” game.

I guess HPT needs to add an “I just want to vent” section.

For whatever it's worth he posted the tune in his original thread - not sure why it wasn't posted here and just looking at it not a whole lot of anything has been dialed in and to clarify this - nowhere to the extent I do. The stage 2 cams aren't an easy cam to dial in for whatever reason if the driver wants to use their trucks for their intended purposes - especially if they tow with them. I see this a lot with them going in behind other shops. It's also not the worst I've seen - just got through doing a stage 2 btr 5.3 swap engine that another big name shop did and literally nothing other than some adaptive stuff and the MAF, which was still WAY off was touched. I'll just leave it at that...

Once again, you have clearly missed what this post was about.. It is to warn others not to use said tuner.. Its not hard to read and understand what is going on..
