2017 ECU Flashing KTAG?

I am currently working on a 6.7 competition truck that is not driven on the street due to various reasons. I know HPTuners no longer offers certain maps to be viewed or edited. I have researched and come across KTAG and TunerPro. Does anyone have experience with this software on the newer trucks? I just want to know if it works and what all I would need to start tuning?

hp tuners works fine for what your doing. ktag isnt tuning software. its just a passthrough software. you have to use winols or something to make the tune file.

So KTAG and Kess are only used to flash the ECM? WinOLS is what is actually used to write the tune?
