Clear DTC's

Hello -

I am new to this software.

After I connect to my car and view DTC's, I can highight them and press "clear DTC's", they vanish from the list, I press Save, disconnect from vehicle. Cycle car off and on, but the codes are still there when I reconnect to vehicle, with the CEL illuminated on dash.

I was hoping to clear them, then see which reappear. I did the above process several times.

What am I doing wrong, or is it that the codes are successfully being cleared but are immediately being thrown again upon the restart of vehicle?

Might help to say what vehicle and what the codes are. And probably post in the section that covers that vehicle.
