hpt not safe for oem's other than gm?

Has anyone heard of HPT bricking or causing issues with other oem's besides gm? New to HPT and just want to check

Never had any bricks beyond repair/reflash and trust me had BSOD many times. Urban legends...

What do you do when that happens? Just re-write entire as found file?

If the vehicle is in the supported list then it's supported - GM or not.
