    What should I do with a new ECU

    I?m going to buy a E40 ECU soon got 2 questions. Do I need to take it to the dealer? Do I need 2 key fobs.

    Only reason I?m buying a new one is the ECU that?s on there now is tuner locked if anyone knows how to bypass it please let me know.

    I?m not stock either. I have a cam, headers, cold air intake, nos

    You will need the initial programming at the dealer level. HP Tuners does not write all the needed software. As to other programming it may be best to start over on the add ons.

    Sounds like you will be starting with a stock file in either situation. You can just reprogram the one in there now with dealer tools and save on buying a new computer.

    We have a ECM unlocking service and also can reprogram with GM SPS software for your new module.

    If the module is locked GM software will not over write it either.

    It?s only the ecu don?t have a tcm since it?s manual would that be okay?

    He will be able to do it. TCM w/without won't matter.

    I cannot unlock TCM's. I'm not sure I've ever seen one locked. Could be wrong.
