    Exclamation Error Opening Scanner

Ok, i want to get this problem fixed. It's getting really annoying. If I don't close out all of the open windows in the scanner, then next time I open it up, I get the error in the picture. I can hit continue and everything is ok. I can have every window open when I close the scanner and then open it back up by double clicking on a log and it loads fine with no error. I've went back and forth with support a while ago and we couldn't fix it. I'm currnetly on a new laptop with a new hard drive and a fresh XP Pro install and it still does it. Has anyone else run into this problem and found a cure?

What version of VCM Suite are you using?

Set it up so it crashes, then e-mail me your vcm scanner.cfg file and the config file you are using for the scanner. vcm scanner.cfg is located in c:\program files\hp tuners\vcm suite 2.

I have had the same error at times, don't think I did anything different to cause the error message. I just ignored the error, and the scanner worked fine.

yeah I think I found one of the problems...try installing sp1 which can be found here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

and let us know how it works out...hopefully that'll cure all your ills though.

ps check your version net 1.1 russ...if it ends in .573 a bunch of us have had issues with that version...just upgrade to sp1 & all of our issues when away.

Ya, sp1 should fix the issue. There is nothing wrong with the configs I received via e-mail.
