    VVE step 18.hptvve step 18.hpl

the truck doesn't want to move from a stop. acceleration isn't great once you get it moving. Used this thread as a guide... still no luck

What are the VVT settings supposed to be for that cam? There is a lot of cam advance off idle. This could be the problem.

Be careful how you handle VVE with the cam moving that much.

I suspect this is the issue but I am not sure how to correct it...
I have a phaser limiter in which maxes out at 20*
I update my Camshaft> desired cam angle to max out at 20 per the limiter. I haven't done anything with VVT.
when I go to EDIT>Virtual torque I can seem to edit any of the table in there...
I made some edits to the PE menu to try to correct the timing on the camHigh Baro.PNGLow Baro.PNGMed Baro.PNGPE Menu Now VS Stock.PNG

What Alvin is referring to is Variable Valve Timing. Brians Cams always come with cam cards that states somewhat on where to set the cam settings to. Won't be perfect, but will be really close for you. Look at the target angle in this one... It should also be noted if you want mpg's that you can run some timing in the lower rpms and lower loads - just keep it below what peak angle is calling for in the card. It will get better mpg above that, but will really lag on power.

Low, Medium and high Baro tables plus the wot base table. Those are the 4 tables where you need to fix this.

I did the low, med, & high baro tables pic in earlier response. I just did WOT, I also disabled "Enable conditions", 0ed out corrections, and set ramp rate to 1 she still pulls loads of timing at idle. New log. Just pulled up and down my drive way. Pulls off from stop much better but still feels "squishy".

Is this thing ready to try and tune VVE?

Low, Med and High need to be fixed. Either multiply by .25 or do like the cam card.

still pulling tons of timing at idle. she will die if I snap the throttle. I probably need to lower vvt in the lower rpm range? but I can never get the changes to enter...
I unlink tables and try to go one by one but the numbers don't change what am I doing wrong?

anyways log, tune, and baro maps attached.

I am trying to learn how to do this myself so I really appreciate everyone?s help

    UPDATE:
I forgot to update my external load table after reloading a stock copy of the table. Now the idle at start seems great but after a bit the idle got choppy again and pulling timing.... Newest log below

Make all the baro tables the same. OR since you have to do it this way anyway - 0 them out and dial in your 0 cam VVE table, then put values back in and dial in your cam movement.

Lose A LOT with them 0ed. VE table once dialed in kind of illustrates this. They dive off up top and lose a lot of fuel economy (3 to 4mpg's) down low if you don't dial that part in too.
