    Question LBZ New to tuning 50hp tow tune critique and recommendations wanted

    07 LBZ 2500 completely stock other than a K&N intake

    red 07 lbz duramax stock tune.hpt
    19 red 07 lbz duramax 50hp tow tune 60% cruse 40% WOT.hpt
    tune 18 log 1.hpl
    tune 18 log 2.hpl

    I have reverted the turbo vane pos back to stock from the tune in the logs

    looking for any thoughts and recommendations

    the vane position in your file was that an attempt to do an exhaust brake?

    yes, the vane 95% vain position on 0-5 mm3 between 2000 and 4800 RPM is supposed to be a turbo brake. I found it in some old threads about tow tunes.

    the way I understand it is when in tow mode the truck will go into downhill assist and downshift. upping the rpm to help slow the truck with less actual braking and increasing the vain position adds back pressure to make it more effective.

    Correct I use it on my 6.0 Powerstroke in almost all of my tunes. I don?t do Duramax a lot but I don?t see anything wrong in my eyes.
