2010 Sierra upgrade 4l60 or convert to 4l80?

I have a 2010 Sierra that came factory with a 4.8-4l60e. Installed a l96 6.0 with stage 1 tsp cam kit with a billet 2600 converter. The transmission shifted fine with 4.8 but would not hold in 2nd with the 6.0. I turned torque management way up now it doesn?t slip. Should I rebuild the 4l60 with stronger parts or get a 4l80? The stock transmission has internal prndl. I can?t find an adapter harness.

I would not be surprised if it turned out that the total bill for a 4L80E conversion came out cheaper than building a 4L60E to handle similar power. And the $6K 60E even with billet this and hardened that would still have the inherent weakness of limited RPM in 1st gear (or else the reverse drum flares out and saws the case in half).

Thanks for the link. I have a 4l80 out of a 98 Chevy with a 350. I know it doesn’t have the top center bellhousing hole but is there anything that would keep it from working. Would it have to be from an ls truck? I think the 4l80 is going to be the way to go.

I know this is several months old but, I did this swap with a early 90's 4l80 transmission
