Why would a normal person not be able to tune them?
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

It should say Now Available to Less Than 100 Arbitrarily Selected Shops Only. Like we can't figure out how to use it or something.

Yeah and the funny thing (irony here as it'll tick you off) is they are only making certain platforms available to these certain shops that push a lot of the interface sales. Doesn't mean they can tune worth a crap, but they get access whereas the rest of us don't. Granted not all of those shops tunes are bad, but I can think of two right off the bat within a hundred and some miles of me that can't tune worth a crap that were given access to the vette stuff in fact one of them was in sales pic/video for it. BUT they're big shops that push a bunch of product..... Funny how the world turns

Bringing up a little older thread here, I have had a constant battle with HPtuners on this and I'll explain...

Currently I am 1600$ in the hole and that's an expensive paper weight(s) Current list: HP tuners MPVI3, unlocked LM2 Global B TCM, brand new laptop to support VCM suite beta, Credits from HPtuners as well as tuning credits from PPEI. Truck is a 22 Silverado 1500 LM2 Refresh model. With I think every bolt on item I can get from PPE(Trans cooler, trans pan, Intercooler, Oil Pan, Rear Diff pan, 4in DPF back exhaust, Forged carbon intake pipe (S&B intake box)), and banks (Idash and Monster pedal).

When I purchased everything, I was aware that the TCM would have to be sent in to HPtuners for unlock. Luckily PPEI and the whole team has got to be the best customer service out there and got me an unlocked TCM that matches my service #. When I received all items, I immediately followed instructions and began the process. I first noted that in the beta I was not able to copy my OEM TCM info (not just copy but the page is actually blank) per the instructions to drop into the new unlocked TCM. I immediately got on the phone with PPEI because it is impossible to talk to Hp on the phone. They (PPEI) remoted into my my laptop so they could see what was going on. After about 30 mins of working together we realized that VCM suite beta and global B tuning is only useable by "authorized resellers" So... I had to put the truck back together with the OEM TCM. Contacted Hptuners VIA email. went back and forth for a couple days on who is authorized around me and why there has been zero info on a easy software update to the beta to allow us users to tune our "unlocked TCM/ECM's. Because if, they have the "released" this software to "authorized resellers" then the software IS there and ready to use. Well after contacting every "authorized reseller" by me the conclusion followed: 8 out of 9 of these resellers wont even touch Diesel even though its just my TCM. That one... Which I respect and fully understand the talk I had with them, They would not tune the TCM with someone else's (PPEI) tune. These tuners, all of them, spend countless hours and days working on this. So, here I am. unable to use the tunes/TCM until HP decides they want to do a simple update to the beta. Kori and the rest of PPEI have been absolutely amazing and have supported and answered every question and concern I have had. In short, please do NOT buy anything from HPtuners for your global B stuff until you first reach out and see if any of your authorized local tuners will tune your stuff whether that be there tunes or big name companies.

We need to make a big push to HP to update the VCM suite beta to allow this "remote tuning" allowable. its putting down company's like PPEI, Run VSE, Duramax tuners and others. These companies are spending a lot of man hours making tunes for us and HP is handcuffing them. I will say, if you support these companies and you live close by them then call them and schedule time to bring your truck to them. Until then were screwed even though HP is preaching about the Global B unlock.

**Hptuners** if you read this! please know, I am not bashing you guys or the hard work you've put into the global B community. But transparency is a very important thing to all of us and we would like as much info as we can. When we click the beta software warning box when we open it, is your saving grace if something were to "happen". You trust this with all your other tuning capability's so why limit the global B??

That's just it though. You can't tune it. You have to send to hpt to unlock it then take it to one of those authorized to tune it. Good luck. I've had tuners reaching out to me to look at some newer ones to help with issues and I be like - I not authorized

Thanks for the heads up. I was not aware of that. Absolutely sad news. I'll have to dismiss this customer since I'm outside US 🙃

Does anyone know the requirements to become an authorized global B tuner?

You likely have to be a 3rd party retailer and sell interfaces at high volume.

Yep you have to be a high volume re-seller. Completely unfair but there isn't anything we can do. Unless someone wants to hire an attorney to explore the issue that HPTuners isn't allowing fair business by forcing all Global B business to their arbitrarily chosen shops.
