Basically our preferred shops were meant to act as a short term buffer for issues like this because they have the tools to fix many minor issues when they arise that the avg person would not have at their immediate disposal.
I have emailed you guys back and forth.... We have everything you guys are asking to tune these, but we aren't a reseller. You guys still won't give us access to these ECUs.

The response I got, whether it's accurate or not I do not know -

    "
Only resellers of ours can unlock the ECMs but once unlocked anyone can tune."

This is the reply I've got today:
Thank You for contacting HP Tuners Customer Service,

This has not changed we still unlock them but you just will need to go with one of our authorized dealers for the service, Unfortunately I cannot give an ETA of when we will release these services to the public, currently you still need to go through with our authorised dealers. If you have anymore questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact us here.

Still waiting to get hands on ☹️

All you have to do is find an authorized Global dealer who will work with you, Once you have ECM unlocked and you have MPVI3, and credits to License your vehicle. You can data log, send Dealer current tune and log via email, they can send updated tune and you can write it to your vehicle. Might take a few tune revisions. and they probably won't do it for nothing, but it can be done.

Not feasible if the vehicle/tuner is outside the US.

The point is, most of the people here are tuners, not people looking for someone to tune their car. I'm not a big tuner, I have a day job, but I have tuned maybe 300 cars over the last 10 years and theres a zero percent chance I will ever have someone else tune my own cars so for any Global B stuff (and I do have a Global B vehicle, my third one mind you, in the garage right now), I am dead in the water. Good thing I don't rely on it for my income, I am sure that doesn't feel great to those who do. And on the personal side, I am lucky I have other cars to mess around with while we see if HPT comes back around.

Still nothing on this? I'd like to at least knock out AFM/DFM before I end up with a 3k repair for lazy lifter failure.

Global B is available to all now. But its till "buggy" on some models. There have been reports of people sending their ECU's out to be unlocked and then receiving them back, plugging them in, and they are unresponsive and car wont start. Then it needed to be fixed with the GDS tool or whatever GM uses on the newest stuff these days, to get the can bus re-sync'd.

This happens when people decide they're going to put another ECU in and drive the car with that while the original is unlocked... because people don't read.
